[3] Macworld New York Keynote Broadcast Live via QuickTime
Steve Jobs' Macworld New York keynote will broadcast live via QuickTime. Apple will provide live streaming of the Macworld Expo keynote utilizing QuickTime, Apple's standards-based technology for live and on-demand audio and video streaming. The live webcast will take place at 9 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 18, 2001.

[4] QED: Apple Number One in Education
Dell is no longer number one in the educational computing market, nor will it overtake Apple in the next school year, according to Quality Education Data, as reported by MacCentral. The research group figures place Apple in the top spot in both installed units and intent to purchase units.

[6] New Releases: CarbonLib 1.4b2

CarbonLib 1.4b2 SDK for Mac OS is now available to all ADC Members. This is latest pre-release version of the CarbonLib 1.4 SDK for Mac OS. This SDK provides all the files needed to begin Carbon development. CarbonLib 1.4 supports Mac OS 8.6 and greater.

[8] Useful Utilities: Applimac Clean Text 2.0, EZNote v2.0, Spring Cleaning, Quickie Photos, VOODOO Server 1.3.1

Applimac's Clean Text 2.0 for Mac OS and Mac OS X is a text-utility that eliminates all text formatting, preparing text for pasting. It also performs other useful functions, such as removing empty lines, removing multiple spaces, removing forwarding characters from email text, removing tab characters, converting straight quotes with curly quotes etc.

EZNote v.2.0, the utility that lets you quickly jot down a note and find it later, has been upgraded. EZNote lets you copy text selections for later reading, without copying and pasting between applications or saving the text to a file. EZNote accomplishes these tasks and more at the touch of a key or click of a mouse.

Spring Cleaning 4.0 from Aladdin Systems, Inc., the #1 uninstaller for the Macintosh, now boasts tools designed for Mac OS X and expanded Internet file cleanup for improved ease-of-use and innovative cleaning. Spring Cleaning provides 15 powerful cleaning utilities to help users safely and easily remove hard drive and Internet clutter to reclaim disk space and increase their Mac's performance.

Quickie Photos to web 1.0 is an application for quickly transferring pictures to web pages. It allows the user options for formatting the output html as the user sees fit. It creates not only an index page (with thumbnails for all the images), but also creates html pages for all of the individual images. The registered user can use a custom template to let the user keep a design just by adding the web album.

VOODOO Server 1.3.1 for Mac OS X from Uni Software Plus is a version control system for software developers using Metrowerks CodeWarrior under Mac OS. Its unique client/server architecture forms the basis for a multiuser version control environment that avoids the risk of database corruption. The new release is a maintenance release which contains a couple of bug fixes and improves compatibility with Mac OS X.

[9] Multimedia Tool News: DVD Studio Pro 1.1

DVD Studio Pro 1.1 is the free update for DVD Studio Pro. It adds improved detection and handling of Final Cut Pro un-rendered sequences, improved optimization of the encoding process to more efficiently allocate the specified bit rate, an updated user's manual, and a number of additional enhancements. In addition, DVD Studio Pro 1.1 adds support for certain third-party external storage devices that contain PioneerÕs DVR-A03 DVD recordable drive.
