Apple Developer Connection RSS Feeds Available
To help developers stay up-to-date on the latest Apple development
information, Apple Developer Connection is now providing RSS (Really
Simple Syndication) feeds for ADC Headlines news items and "New and
Updated" additions to the ADC Reference Library. To use ADC RSS
feeds, copy these URLs into the the subscription pane of your
favorite RSS reader.

In addition, Apple has added new RSS feed functionality to its

[1] On Sale Now: WWDC 2004 Sessions DVD-ROM Set
ADC Select members who missed the Apple Worldwide Developers
Conference in June can learn more about the technologies discussed
there by purchasing the WWDC 2004 Sessions DVD-ROM Set. For US$299,
you'll receive five discs containing video of more than 150 expert
presentations that cover all aspects of developing and deploying on
the Mac platform. (Note: this DVD-ROM set was automatically
delivered to all WWDC 2004 attendees and ADC Premier members in
October 2004.)

[2] System Administration Tool News: FmPro Migrator 2.35
Enterprise Edition, OpenBase SQL 8.0.4, SyBrowser 6.0
FmPro Migrator 2.35 Enterprise Edition from .com Solutions allows
users to migrate FileMaker databases to popular databases such as
MySQL, Oracle, Access, SQL Server, DB2 and PostgreSQL. This new
version enables repeating field extraction from FileMaker to MySQL.
It also allows users to generate Perl CGI scripts for use with
FileMaker 7 databases.
OpenBase SQL 8.0.4 from OpenBase International is a high performance
database server. This release enhances performance and offers
ColdFusion compatibility; a new 4D plugin; and enhanced PHP, JDBC,
and ODBC drivers.
SyBrowser 6.0 from MacSOS is a database query and entity
relationship diagram client application for Sybase, MS SQL, Oracle,
PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases. This version adds many new
alignment features and improved SQL query creation, with the
addition of a context-sensitive auto-completion window.
[3] Web Development Tool News: Ch CGI Toolkit 3.51,
WS4D/eCommerce 4.0r14
Ch CGI Toolkit 3.51 from SoftIntegration is a free C++ toolkit that
can be run in C/C++ interepreter Ch. It provides easy-to-use CGI
APIs, similar to JSP and ASP for web development. With this toolkit,
you can do web-based plotting, numerical analysis, ODBC database
access, analysis and design of control systems, mechanisms design
and analysis, and more.
WS4D/eCommerce 4.0r14 from MDG Computer Services is a standalone
application that handles shopping carts, credit card processing,
virtual domains, and database publishing. This update adds many
enhancements to get your domains and products listed on search
engines. It also improves cookie handling with search engines.

[4] Tiger Developer Overview Series: Working with Spotlight
Apple Developer Connection has delivered a new article in the Tiger
Developer Overview Series called "Working with Spotlight." With
Spotlight, Tiger will be the first industrial strength operating
system to feature a fully integrated, fast, and efficient search
across all of the files on a system. The article explains the
development technologies behind Spotlight and how you can integrate
it into your applications.

The sources for Darwin 7.6, which correspond to Mac OS X 10.3.6,
are available for download.

[10] Mac OS X Tool News: Sysquake LE 3.0
Sysquake LE 3.0 from Calerga is an interactive graphical analysis
tool for understanding complex control systems, solving problems,
and designing products. In this release, the user interface has been
completely rewritten for Cocoa, and the Matlab-compatible
programming language has been extended with new data types and
math/graphical functions.

[11] New Release: Apple Logic Express 7
Logic Express 7, the latest release of Apple's music composition and
production software, delivers professional quality audio and MIDI
tools at an affordable price of US$299. With new Apple Loops
support, software instruments, and high-quality effect plug-ins,
Logic Express 7 allows musicians to create, record, edit, and mix
music.

[13] Multimedia Tool News: Videocue 1.02
Videocue 1.02 from Vara is a new, Mac OS X-only QuickTime authoring
tool for creating fast, professional presentations for any web site,
weblog, or e-mail message. To create a presentation, simply type in
text, read back the words into a microphone, then add movies,
images, and titles. It can be saved as a QuickTime movie and
uploaded to a remote FTP site or weblog. English, Japanese, French,
and German versions are available.
