The JavaScript functionality present in Safari and its associated Web Kit framework was derived from the original cross-platform Netscape specification and then extended by Apple.
Because JavaScript is not a standard compiled language—rather a client-side interpreted one—there are no header files or other references available within the Web Kit JavaScriptCore subframework. Instead, this reference is provided as an extension to existing JavaScript documentation and as an availability reference specific to Safari and the Web Kit. See “Other Resources” for more JavaScript reference resources.

The Netscape JavaScript Guide is a comprehensive JavaScript reference but covers only JavaScript version 1.1 and below. The Web Kit, Safari, and most web browsers now support JavaScript 1.2 and later. You can find the JavaScript Guide here:
