Getting a Unique Resource ID
The Resource Manager provides two routines that return a unique resource ID. TheUniqueIDfunction returns a resource ID that isn't currently assigned to any resource of the specified type in any open resource fork. TheUnique1IDfunction returns a resource ID that isn't currently assigned to any resource of the specified type in the resource fork of the current resource file.
