Palette Manager

The Palette Manager provides services for displaying the best available set of colors on displays with limited color capabilities. For example, your application can use the Palette Manager to provide more sophisticated color support on an indexed graphics device in the QuickDraw environment.

Note that modern display devices that implement direct color (as opposed to indexed color) can support thousands or millions of colors. Your application does not need the Palette Manager to provide color support on these devices.
