Setting a Screenshot as Your iOS App’s Launch Image
- Steps
In the Devices organizer, select Screenshots for a device or for the Library section.
Select an image.
Click “Save as Launch Image.”
Specify the name of the image and the target app, and click Next.
Set the launch image of your app to give the user immediate feedback that the app launched.

A launch image acts as a placeholder for your app’s user interface at launch time. When the user launches your app, the iOS presents this image until your app displays its main window and starts responding to events.
An iPhone app has only one launch image, typically named Default.png. An iPad app can have multiple launch images, each one presenting the app’s user interface in a specific device orientation. Launch images may have names other than Default.png.
