Viewing a Task Log
Choose View > Navigators > Log.
In the log navigator, select the task whose log you want to view.
View the messages produced by tasks—such as build tasks, and source control tasks—in the task log viewer. The task log viewer lists the selected task’s operations, grouped under the task.
Use the task log viewer scope bar to specify the content to display:
All button: Shows operations that are part of the selected task.
Recent button: Shows the operations executed in the selected task.
All Messages button: Shows all messages, which include issues and errors.
All Issues button: Shows all issues, which include errors.
Errors Only button: Shows only error messages.
Filter field: Shows messages that match the text you enter.
Successful operations have a success icon (a circle with a checkmark) next to them. Unsuccessful operations are identified with an issue icon (a circle with an exclamation mark). To view an operation’s warning or error messages (when it has them), click the disclosure triangle at the left of the operation.
Click the transcript button at the right of an operation to show or hide the operation’s transcript. To show or hide the transcripts of all the operations, choose Editor > Expand All Transcripts or Editor > Collapse All Transcripts.
You can copy the transcripts of selected operations by choosing Editor > Copy Selected Transcripts.
To search through the transcripts of all the operations, choose Edit > Find. You can perform textual searches and regular expression searches.
The screenshot shows the transcript of an operation, and two operations with at least one issue.
