Software Licensing & Trademark Agreements

Apple provides developers the opportunity to license and use Apple software, technologies and Apple trademarks to build successful products. Regardless of whether your product will be sold, used internally, or bundled with other products, if you wish to use Apple software, technologies and/or trademarks, you need to obtain a license from Apple to do so. Apple's Software Licensing Department works with developers, user groups, and others to ensure they are properly licensed for many of Apple technologies and trademarks.

 Audio Units

Audio Units Logo Agreement

Have you created a compliant audio unit or audio unit hosting application for Mac OS X? Tell the world by using the Audio Units logo.

For audio unit developers:

  1. Download and review the required Audio Units License Agreement (PDF).
  2. Download the Audio Units Logo Guidelines (PDF).
  3. Download the Audio Units Validation Tool (ZIP). Use of this application is subject to the terms of the Validation Tool License (PDF) presented upon launch.
  4. Complete and mail (post) the originally-signed agreement to the Austin, Texas address referenced on the form (emailed or faxed agreements are not accepted.)
  5. Email the Validation Tool output form to Software Licensing and include a note stating that the agreement form is on its way via post.
  6. Read the statement below and download the Audio Units artwork files (ZIP).

For audio unit hosting application developers:

  1. Download and review the Required Agreement (PDF).
  2. Download the Logo Guidelines (PDF).
  3. Complete and mail (post) the originally-signed agreement to the Austin,Texas address referenced on the form (faxes not accepted.)
  4. Read the statement below and download the Audio Units artwork files (ZIP).

Note: By downloading the artwork from the link above, you agree that you will use this trademark only in conjunction and compliance with an Audio Units Logo License Agreement approved by Apple Computer, Inc.
