My company/organization is considering developing an application. Can Apple review and pre-approve our application idea?

Apple is not able to provide pre-approval to developers for proposed application submissions. We ask that you please review the Program License Agreement details against the specific application you wish to develop and submit any applications for App Store consideration in line with the application submission processes for the program.

What versions of iPhone OS should I build and submit applications for?

Log in to the iPhone Dev Center to download the latest version of the iPhone SDK and to find documentation that will provide you with details on building apps for iPhone OS.

How can I find out the status of my application once it is submitted for Apple’s review through iTunes Connect?

Developers may check the status of an application submission by visiting iTunes Connect. If you have additional questions, please send an email to the App Review Team. Please be sure to include your application name, version number, App ID and company name in your correspondence. How long will it take for my application to be reviewed once it is submitted?

Each application submitted to Apple has different capabilities, features, and complexity, which means that individual review times vary. The review process was designed to process applications that have been through a complete Quality Assurance cycle before being submitted to the App Store. Apps that have not been completely QA'd cannot be processed in the most efficient way. How will I be notified of any status updates related to the review of my application once it is submitted for review?

Once the application review has been completed, you will receive an email notification to the Contract and Support email addresses (specified in the metadata for the submitted application) with the status of the review. If I “developer reject” a binary and upload a new one does it impact the review time for my submission?

Yes, if a binary is self-rejected and resubmitted the application review process is reset and starts from the beginning. Visit the App Store Approval Process section of the App Store Resource Center to learn more about changing the status of your app.
