The Mutator Toolbar
The biggest
user interface addition to Mutator for version 2.0 is the
Toolbar

The Mutator Toolbar
Special
Toolbar Features
The Toolbar has a number of features:
Horizontal And Vertical
Layouts
You can toggle the Toolbar layout between horizontal
and vertical by clicking the Axis change button.
Axis
Change Button
You can change the Toolbar layout regardless of
whether the Toolbar is anchored or floating.

Vertical Toolbar Layout

Horizontal Toolbar Layout
Toolbar
Anchoring
You can anchor/unanchor the toolbar to the
application menu bar by clicking the Anchor button
Anchor Button
When the Toolbar is anchored, no title bar is visible
and the Toolbar is tight in the top left corner of the screen

Anchored Toolbar (Horizontal Layout)
When the Toolbar is unanchored, it is said to be
floating - the title bar is visible and you can drag it as you would
a normal window.
The Toolbar can be anchored/unanchored regardless of
its layout (horizontal or vertical).
- Note: If you anchor the Toolbar and later
unanchor it, the Toolbar will return to exactly the position it
was in when last anchored.
Help
Bubbles
The Mutator Toolbar comes complete with Help Bubbles
describing what each button on the Toolbar does. The help bubbles can
be activated and deactivated in two ways:
Select the Show Balloons / Hide Balloons option from
the Help Menu OR click
the Help Bubbles button on the Mutator Toolbar.
Help
Bubbles Button
To see the help balloon for a button, move the mouse
pointer over that button momentarily. The balloon will appear and
stay visible until the mouse is moved off the button.

Using The Help Bubbles (In A Vertical, Floating
Toolbar)
- Note: Help bubbles will work whether or not the
Toolbar is the active/foremost window. However, it is best to
select the Toolbar (i.e. make it active) before using the feature
(otherwise the system may display balloons saying that the window
is inactive etc.)
Toolbar Pop-Up
Menu
Hold down the Command key while clicking on the
toolbar. A pop up menu will appear allowing you to control layout,
anchoring and help bubbles. This is useful when the special feature
buttons are e.g. positioned offscreen.
Note on Disabled
Buttons
Some of the buttons on the toolbar will be enabled /
disabled depending on whether that particular option is currently
available. For example, if the Original outline option is not on,
the point display options for the original outline (on/off curev)
will be disabled until the outline is turned on, etc.
