  • General Conference Information

    1. What is WWDC?

      The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is the most important annual event for hardware, software and mobile developers, including in-house developers, computational scientists, IT managers, and system administrators. Thousands of developers from around the world come to California each year to receive in-depth information and instruction from Apple’s technical architects and engineers.

    2. When is WWDC?

      WWDC takes place June 9-13, 2008.

    3. Where is WWDC?

      WWDC will be held at Moscone Center West in San Francisco, California. For more information about the convention center, please visit the Moscone Center website.

    4. What are the topics for WWDC?

      Information about sessions, labs, and special events will be provided on the WWDC website as they become available.

    5. How can I arrange to have my special needs met, such as meal requirements or wheelchair access?

    6. How can I get information about WWDC?

      Information regarding WWDC is available from the following sources:

      • Web - The WWDC website includes links to tracks, sessions, special events, and logistical information as they become available.
      • Email - All ADC members and Registered iPhone Developers will receive regular WWDC updates via email.
      • Customer Service - For WWDC Customer Service, please contact us. You will receive assistance from a regional customer service representative with local language support.

    7. May I photograph or videotape keynotes or sessions?

      Videotaping, audiotaping, and photographing of WWDC presentations without the prior written consent of an authorized Apple representative in each instance is expressly prohibited.

    8. How do I purchase tickets to WWDC?

      Tickets to WWDC are available through the Apple Store online in your country. If you find an Apple Store online is not available for your country, please contact us.

  • Purchase and Payments

    1. How do I purchase an E-ticket to WWDC?

      E-tickets to WWDC are available for purchase through the Apple Store online. You must be either an ADC Member or Registered iPhone Developer to active your E-ticket, and agree to the ADC Membership Terms and Conditions and/or the Registered iPhone Developer Terms and Conditions

    2. I am not able to find an Apple Store online listed for my country. Can I still purchase a ticket to WWDC?

      If an Apple Store online is not available in your country, please contact us. WWDC Customer Service will respond with further instructions on how to complete your transaction. Please note that payment will be in US dollars and must be made with a credit card.

    3. What methods of payment are available through the Apple Store online?

      Methods of payment vary by country. Available payment methods can be viewed for each regional Apple Store online upon checkout.

    4. I am a US or Canadian Education customer, how do I purchase a ticket to WWDC?

      US Education customers can purchase tickets to WWDC by contacting their local education sales representative, visiting the Apple Store for Education, or through the US education price list.

      Canadian Education customers can purchase tickets to WWDC by contacting their local education sales representative, visiting the Canadian Apple Store for Education, or through the Canadian education price list.

    5. I am a US Government or US Enterprise customer, how do I purchase a ticket to WWDC?

      US Government customers can purchase tickets to WWDC by contacting their local government sales representative, or visiting the Apple Store for Government.

      US Enterprise customers can purchase tickets to WWDC by contacting their local enterprise sales representative, or visiting the Apple Store for Business.

  • Transportation, Lodging, and SF Visitor Info

    1. Where is WWDC?

      The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2008 will be held at Moscone West, 747 Howard Street in San Francisco, California.

    2. How do I get to WWDC?

      Public transportation is a great way to get to Moscone West. The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and MUNI provide light rail service with stations only 2 blocks from Moscone West. Caltrain offers frequent stops at the 4th & King Station (approximately 1 mile from Moscone West).     3. How do I find a place to stay?

      Moscone West is within walking distance from Union Square, SOMA, Downtown, The Financial District, Civic Center, and is easily accessible by public transportation from Fisherman’s Wharf, North Beach and Nob Hill.   • Students

    1. How can I attend WWDC?

      Student developers may attend by participating in the WWDC Student Scholarship Program. All current ADC Student Members are eligible to apply. If you are not an ADC Student Member, please see the ADC Student  Membership detail page for more information.

    2. What may be of special interest to a student developer at WWDC?

      Student attendees will be admitted to the regularly scheduled conference sessions, labs, and special events during the week. The WWDC Student Scholarship Program features a Welcome Session and a Career Fair. Note that all sessions are presented in English and cover highly technical content.

    3. What events can student developers attend?

      Students may attend the special events scheduled during WWDC. Please note that only those students with official government photo identification or a passport showing them to be over age 21 will be allowed to drink alcohol at the after-session events. California law prohibits the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages to persons under 21.

    4. What should I bring to WWDC? Identification? My computer? My resume?

      Please bring two forms of government issued photo identification, including your current school ID or proof of current enrollment. If you are looking for employment, whether for an internship or a full-time position, we suggest you bring copies of your resume. A note pad or laptop computer for taking notes is recommended, however a computer is required for participation in hands-on sessions and access to many attendee communications. Email and Internet access stations will be provided at the conference, along with an AirPort network. Videotaping, audiotaping, and photographing of WWDC presentations are expressly prohibited without the prior written consent of an authorized Apple representative in each instance.

  • Apple Design Awards

    1. How do I enter the Apple Design Awards 2008?

      The last day to submit an entry for the Apple Design Awards 2008 was 5PM (PDT) Monday, May 12, 2008.

    2. I submitted my product for the Apple Design Awards, how do I know it was received?

      You will receive an email confirming your contest entry. The date and time stamp on your contest entry will be used as your official date and time. If you do not receive an email confirmation via web or email, please contact us. Be sure to include your name, product name, date and time of entry.

    3. Why aren't developers from all countries eligible to participate in the Apple Design Awards?

      Only countries in which Apple can clearly abide by the country's laws and regulations are eligible for the contest.

    4. What is the judging criteria?

      Entries in each category are judged using a fixed set of criteria and a 10-point weighted scale described in detail in Section IV: Judging of the Official Contest Rules.

  • Attendance & Refund Policy

    1. Attendance

      • You will be required to present your passport or other government-issued identification before being admitted to WWDC. Please make sure you bring your identification with you, as you will not be admitted without it.
      • You must be 18 or older in order to attend WWDC.
      • Presentations at WWDC will be in English.
      • Videotaping, audiotaping, and photographing of WWDC presentations without the prior written consent of an authorized Apple representative in each instance is expressly prohibited.
      • Photographs and/or videotape taken at WWDC by Apple, or others on behalf of Apple, may include your image or likeness. You agree that Apple may use such photographs and/or videotape for any purpose without compensation to you.
      • With the exception of the WWDC Keynote Session, all information presented or provided to you by Apple during WWDC is considered Confidential Information and is subject to the terms and conditions of your ADC Membership or as a Registered iPhone Developer with Apple.

    2. Refunds

      • The Apple Store online does not offer returns or refunds WWDC E-Tickets.
