# NSGestureRecognizer.State.failed

The gesture recognizer failed to recognize its gesture and will not call its action method. The gesture recognizer resets itself to the [`NSGestureRecognizer.State.possible`](/documentation/AppKit/NSGestureRecognizer/State-swift.enum/possible) state.
