## Discussion

Apps that adopt App Sandbox cannot access files identified using the [`string`](/documentation/AppKit/NSPasteboard/PasteboardType/string) pasteboard type. Instead, use an <doc://com.apple.documentation/documentation/Foundation/NSURL> object, a bookmark, or a filename pasteboard type.
