# client

The owner of this input context. (read-only)

```
var client: any NSTextInputClient { get }
```

## Discussion

The client (owner) of the input context, typically an `NSView` instance, retains its `NSTextInputContext` instance. The `NSTextInputContext` instance doesn’t retain its client.
