# CVPixelBufferGetPixelFormatType(_:)

Returns the pixel format type of the pixel buffer.

func CVPixelBufferGetPixelFormatType(_ pixelBuffer: CVPixelBuffer) -> OSType
```

## Parameters

`pixelBuffer`

The pixel buffer whose format type you want to obtain.

## Return Value

A four-character code `OSType` identifier for the pixel format.
