The underlying type of the column.

## Discussion

Use this to determine the underlying type of the column. Then use a
corresponding property or method to create an [`MLDataColumn`](/documentation/CreateML/MLDataColumn) of the
untyped column. For example, if [`type`](/documentation/CreateML/MLUntypedColumn/type) is equal to
[`MLDataValue.ValueType.double`](/documentation/CreateML/MLDataValue/ValueType/double), then use the [`MLUntypedColumn`](/documentation/CreateML/MLUntypedColumn)
[`doubles`](/documentation/CreateML/MLUntypedColumn/doubles) property.
