# tryLock(whenCondition:)

Attempts to acquire a lock if the receiver’s condition is equal to the specified condition.

## Discussion

As part of its implementation, this method invokes [`lock(whenCondition:before:)`](/documentation/Foundation/NSConditionLock/lock(whenCondition:before:)). This method returns immediately.
