Instance Method

supportsTemporalBitmaps

Indicates whether or not the host application supports temporal bitmaps and image well parameters.

Declaration

- (BOOL)supportsTemporalBitmaps;

Return Value

YES if temporal bitmaps are supported; NO otherwise.

Discussion

If this method returns NO, then bitmap images returned by the FxTemporalImageAPI, and by the getBitmap:layerOffsetX:layerOffsetY:requestInfo:fromParm:atTime: method in the FxParameterRetrievalAPI protocol, may have incorrect pixel aspect or pixel size, or other problems. If this is the case, and if a plug-in must use image reference parameters or the FxTemporalImageAPI protocol, then it must only use textures by setting the canRenderSoftware value to NO in the FxGenerator protocol method frameSetup:hardware:software:.
