## Overview

To create an [`HKCategoryType`](/documentation/HealthKit/HKCategoryType) instance, pass an [`HKCategoryTypeIdentifier`](/documentation/HealthKit/HKCategoryTypeIdentifier) value to the [`categoryType(forIdentifier:)`](/documentation/HealthKit/HKObjectType/categoryType(forIdentifier:)) method.
