# Enable WebDriver on iOS and iPadOS

Enable WebDriver to automate testing of Safari on iOS and iPadOS using a connected Mac.

## Discussion

In addition to having enabled WebDriver on the Mac you will use to remotely automate your iOS or iPadOS device, you must enable WebDriver on your device.

1. Open the **Settings** app.
2. Go to **Safari**.
3. Scroll down to **Advanced**.
4. If you haven’t yet enabled it, enable the **Web Inspector** toggle.
5. Enable the **Remote Automation** toggle.
