# simdOrientation

The node’s orientation, expressed as a quaternion. Animatable.

```
var simdOrientation: simd_quatf { get set }
```

## Discussion

The [`simdRotation`](/documentation/SceneKit/SCNNode/simdRotation), [`simdEulerAngles`](/documentation/SceneKit/SCNNode/simdEulerAngles), and [`simdOrientation`](/documentation/SceneKit/SCNNode/simdOrientation) properties all affect the rotational aspect of the node’s [`simdTransform`](/documentation/SceneKit/SCNNode/simdTransform) property. Any change to one of these properties is reflected in the others.

You can animate changes to this property’s value. See [Animating SceneKit Content](/documentation/SceneKit/animating-scenekit-content).
