# next()

Return the `Character` starting at `currentCodeUnitOffset`. After the
function returns, `currentCodeUnitOffset` holds the position at the
end of the `Character`, which is also the start of the next
`Character`.

## Discussion

Returns `nil` if at the end of the `UTF8Span`.
