# init()

Create an empty state container.

```
init()
```

## Discussion

You don’t typically create an instance of [`AnimationState`](/documentation/SwiftUI/AnimationState) directly.
Instead, the [`AnimationContext`](/documentation/SwiftUI/AnimationContext) provides the animation state to an
instance of [`CustomAnimation`](/documentation/SwiftUI/CustomAnimation).
