# setEnabled(_:forSegmentAt:)

Enables the segment you specify.

```
func setEnabled(_ enabled: Bool, forSegmentAt segment: Int)
```

## Parameters

`enabled`

<doc://com.apple.documentation/documentation/Swift/true> to enable the segment you specify or <doc://com.apple.documentation/documentation/Swift/false> to disable the segment. <doc://com.apple.documentation/documentation/Swift/true> by default.

`segment`

An index number identifying a segment in the control. It must be a number between 0 and the number of segments ([`numberOfSegments`](/documentation/UIKit/UISegmentedControl/numberOfSegments)) minus 1; the segmented control pins values exceeding this upper range to the last segment.
