I also would like to remind you that, as mentioned in the initial post, I am able to go into the apps Contents/MacOS folder and click on the universalJavaApplicationStub to launch the app that way. Hopefully that is a clue.... Thanks.

Hello - As you requested, I included the error received when trying to launch the app from the terminal window. Also include, although, not requested, is the entitlements file - see both in the above post.
NOTE - Simplify the issue I am having , I have created an extremely SIMPLE Hello World program and am having the exact same issue. I have included all pertinent information in the attachments for you to review. I would really appreciate your timely response and effort to work through this with me as it is holding up our production of our application.
