I have tried to test an iOS application I have been busy creating over the last few weeks on my iPhone. I used Xcode 7 and iOS 8.4 beta for this, since Apple advertised testing without a developer membership subscription on the information site about Xcode 7.As stated there, I downloaded Xcode 7 and simply logged in in the Xcode Preferences. Now, when I connect my iPhone it shows up in the devices list, but with (unavailable) behind its name, and when I try to start the app it tells me, the Developer Disk Image could not be found.I would really love to be able to try my app in real before subscribing, please help! 🙂

Does the WatchKit Extension have to run on the Watch? My app does a lot of heavy duty calculations -- I think the performance on the Watch would be terrible compared to running on the iPhone. It doesn't seem like 2.0 will have a 1.0 compatibility mode where 1.0 apps can run unmodified on 2.0 like they do now. Is that the case? Will every existing app have to be rewritten eventually to run on 2.0?

During the keynote one slide listed OCR Accessory Setup as a new feature. I guess it might be HomeKit related, however, I don't find any reference of it in the Mfi documentation. Anybody any details?
When I get a regular SMS text I only get the option to Dismiss. And after if I go into messages on my Watch the SMS Text will not show in the list. I have also tried starting a new SMS text from the Watch only to have it try and fail sending an iMessage. This is only happining when recieving or starting them from the Watch, all texts and imessages work as they should on the iPhone. Anyone else having this issue?
You can perform an update from OS X Yosemite to OS X El Capitan without losing data. However it is a beta and there is a chance for data loss and corruption in an case so I advise making a backup of your system before installing the beta.I am slightly confused however as you mentioned it is a Yosemite beta. Yosemite is in public release so if you arent running that I can be sure what is going to happen. You shouldnt be running OS X Yosemite betas any longer with the exception of things like 10.10.4.

I'm just wondering if there's list anywhere of certain features that are only available on certain devices. I know multi-tasking is specific to certain devices, but wondering what others there are? I noticed that the notes app on my iPod Touch 5th Gen didn't have the drawing feature which I thought was a bit odd, but not sure if it's even meant to be on the iTouch or not. So far I can't find anything about which features are on which devices.
Clean install using the USB Boot seems to work perfectly, however most app seems to crash down.Unsure what happen, so finally decide to revert back to the good ol Yosemite. At the time being the beta is not usesable at all.Installing Firefox (fail unless we change the security setting) and Paragon NTFS (one of my most important software is 100% not compatible.) Unsure about 1Password.We need to begin listing...
I get the icon on my lock screen, and if I swipe up and unlock I get the webpage from my Mac, but it used to be on the left of the task list as well. With the new task list scrolling from the left, the app from the other device is no longer available there - or am I missing something? iPhone 6+
Hi,I've followed the installation guide but the installation has 'stalled'..The watch has performed a reboot.. shows a new Apple logo.. the dots have reached around the 10 o'clock position and has remained there for over 30 minutes. What are my options? Thanks in advance.Andy
I have an app in the US store. I want it available in China & HK.How do I do that?
With AirPrint it's possible to choose the following output types by setting the outputType property of UIPrintInfo to the relevant UIPrintInfoOutputType:GeneralPhotoGrayscalePhotoGrayscaleAt the 2014 WWDC talk on AirPrint (Adopting AirPrint, session 718), PhotoGrayscale was described as follows:[...] some printers have a high-quality grayscale mode. Some have gray inks and can print a photo in grayscale really, really nicely. [...] choose this if you want your photo to come out in a really high-end grayscale way.The problem is that if you print with this output mode on an average consumer inkjet printer you will get a grayscale print that uses the color ink cartridges–basically the same as if you made the image black and white and then printed in the color photo mode. The result is never great, and if your aim is to try to save your color inks then I imagine you will be very disappointed. It would be helpful to detect if a printer actually supports PhotoGrayscale (i.e. has gray inks, and thus can actually perform
I tried this and the list shows that my mac will install osx lion. sigh.

the HomeKit framework in watchOS 2 seems to be missing HMAccessoryBrowser. does this mean that the watch does not connect to an accessory directly but rather via the iphone? If it does connect directly, how does one brows a list of HomeKit devices on the watch?
I work for a third party library vendor and we are pretty sure our customers will ask us for a Bitcode version of our library. We are very performance sensitive though, and we've optimized critical sections of our library in NEON assembly. When we compile to LLVM bitcode, we are assuming that NEON assembly will be encapsulated. Is that correct? We're also worried about writing code in assembly though. Bitcode seems to leave open the possibility that our application could end up running on a platform who's capabilities we did not optimize for in advance. It seems like it might be a good idea to make sure our software paths are working well. Would it also be a good idea to attempt to drop out of NEON directly and use the LLVM SIMD intrinsics? I believe Accelerate was also tried and found to be too high level for our stuff. We're also multiplatform.
I installed the iOS 9 beta on a secondary iPhone to try out the new OS, including the new Music app. However it seems that app is being released first on iOS 8.4 and is currently omitted from the iOS 9 beta, so I'm considering reverting that phone back from the beta. Before installing the beta, I performed a local iTunes backup. However, after doing so I neglected to switch the backup preference setting back from local to iCloud, and so when the phone performed its automatic nightly backup it overwrote the local iOS 8 backup with one for iOS 9. While it's possible to download an iOS 8.3 IPSW file and downgrade to that version, I don't believe I will be able to restore my data backup, since the sole backup is based on iOS 9.I'm assuming a workaround would be to first restore the last iOS 8 backup file from Time Machine and use that. However, I'm not sure if it's as simple as replacing this backup and restoring from it, or whether additional steps would be required to avoid screwing something u
