iOS9b1 Safari crashes every time I...
on my iPad Air 2 every time while I'm in the process of adding any website to bookmarks, i tap the share icon, I tap add Bookmark, then when I tap in the Location to select the place in my bookmarks list where I want to save it, it crashes instantl. It happens every time and right when I tap to choose the location where I want to save the bookmark. Any body else having this bug?

Reply to CoreLocation: startUpdateLocation is unavailable
I looked at using requestLocation but as that only performs one request rather than continous requests I was hoping there would be another way as I share the code for both the iPhone and Watch app.I use a distance filter that only gives me locations when I've moved a certain distance which is really convenient so I guess I need to implement a similar setup for the watch, or as suggested above keep location functionality on the phone.

Reply to san francisco
There appears to be some strange internal doublethink going on with the bundled version of San Francisco.Indeed, like all core fonts, it's located in /System/Library/Fonts, and it occupies a handful of files prefixed SFNS. But it doesn't show up anywhere in Font Book, as far as I could see. And if you go to re-install it (File: Add Fonts and select those files), it will happily copy the files out of the system folder into ~/Library/Fonts——but will still absolutely refuse to show it in the font list!Whatever the reasoning behind this, it's totally creeping me out.(note that the same font—the same files, AFAICT—can be downloaded from Apple directly, but have the prefix SanFrancisco instead of SFNS.)

Reply to The core Idea Of Metal
Yes.A central focus of Metal is to dramatically reduce the CPU cost of common operations. However, it is still quite possible for wasteful code to blow out the CPU cost and end up running slowly and eating up a bunch of battery life. That is, even though the CPU and GPU can run concurrently, your GPU frames can't cycle any faster than the CPU workload required to encode / enqueue them. Thus, quite a lot of making Metal go fast can be making sure that your CPU workload isn't consuming all your time. For me, the CPU cost is usually around 10% or less of the GPU time in well behaved code. If you are running more than that, then you may need to spend some time finding out why. Most of the time, it comes down to object reuse. It is maybe the key way to improve Metal performance. Much of Metal is designed around the assumption that you will allocate expensive resources (textures, buffers, shaders, queues) up front and then reuse them. As an application writer, this is fairly simple, since you should know in

Reply to Battery Use Worse
Yes and this is also not the first beta. We developer know this already from former iOS betas. After 1-2 betas the battery drain and performance is again like it should be.But nearly all of us use the devices also private. The battery of the watch was much better than older phones. Now it is so worse that you can use the watch only for development and put it then on the charger. And I am also a little bit worried if this is good for the battery also when it needs so much energy in such a short time. Maybe someone can give us some information why the watch needs now so much battery power even without using native apps.

Reply to Why?
Another problem (unless I'm missing how it works) is that older threads seem to disappear off the bottom of the list based on some criteria (age? number of threads?). I can't find a way to get to a Page 2 if there is one. (Note: I'm not referring to the archive of the old forum -- I mean old threads in the NEW forum).

Availability of a custom keyboard
I am developing a keyboard extension. Even when it's allowed full access, there are still some cases it disappears and the default iPhone keyboard appears insted. I'm not talking about the password and phone number fields. The first case is the 'Search iPhone' field. There are some custom keyboards that appear there. However, my keyboard is not listed among the available keyboards for that field. The second case is a bit strange: if a device is not passcode protected, locking the screen with open keyboard and unlocking it does nothing, i.e. the keyboard still appears on the screen and everything is fine. However, if a device is passcode protected, after unlocking it, my keyboard is replaced with the system default. The interesting thing is that the same custom keyboards that can be used in the 'Search iPhone' field, remain active after unlocking a passcode protected device.I believe, there should be some setting or property in the plist file or something. I just cant find anything about it.The other th

Reply to Battery Use Worse
Apple can always do what they want. They had native apps there before, or OW the watch wouldnt tell time, count steps and a host of other things. That part is mostly unchanged with the new OS, and there are likely zero outside apps yet that are native (unless Apple invited some firm for special cases).Apple may have added new native apps, but that list is short too as well I believe.

Reply to How do I install apps without a developer program?
I haven't tried this yet but I pulled this from the XCode 7 release notes. Maybe you are running into one of these issues:Free Provisioning•Accounts with expired Apple Developer Program memberships may not be able to use free provisioning.(20486606)Workaround: Create a new Apple ID and enter it into Xcode's Accounts preference pane.•The list of teams displayed within Xcode's Accounts preference pane may not update to show your new freeprovisioning team. (19775448)Workaround: Remove your Apple ID and add it again in Xcode's Accounts preference pane.•When logging in via the Preferences window’s Accounts pane, any standard Apple ID will allow you to log inand use Free Provisioning. Such logins will not be subject to the Apple Developer Program LicenseAgreement. (21243707)•You may be asked to select between a free membership and your company team membership whenconfiguring apps for distribution. (20276021

Reply to Converted 32bit to 64bit app Crashes
The crash log is useful if it's symbolicated. It's not particularly useful in that format. (Incidentally you don't normally need to post the long list of binaries at the end, or the irrelevant threads - usually just the header and the thread that crashed is sufficient. More info is better than less though.)These two lines1 OIDAR 0x0000000100095020 0x100038000 + 3809602 OIDAR 0x0000000100093d0c 0x100038000 + 376076will point to the specific source file and line of code that caused the crash once you have that log symbolicated. (Drag into Xcode in the device logs window)
