Hi, I have the same question. We want to implement the Apple VAS protocol in out RFID/NFC reader devices. But so far I have not been able to find a way to get the Apple VAS protocol specification.

For certain uses, especially Transit, a pass can be set to express mode so it doesn't need to be further authenticated when presented to an appropriate reader. This allows you to go quickly through the gate by presenting your watch or phone. Passes set to express mode also continue to work for some time after the battery is too low for your watch or phone to otherwise operate, allowing you to still ride home. See the heading Express Transit cards with power reserve at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209495 Express mode is not intended for use where authentication is always needed. In that case you will need a source of power.

Hi, how can we access the documentation for the digital id api. We are from Puerto Rico and have our Digital License in a APP (CESCO Digital). We will like to be on the selected states to test this new capability on the wallet.

Probably you are still invited to the sandbox account. Go to app store connect and delete or uninvite the account

Make sure that you have NFC on, which is obvious but may not be on. Then, may I ask how you are trying to unlock the door. If you are not, I think that you should try double-clicking the side button like when you would do it by an NFC cash register, as that would transmit NFC data.

Hello I work at a financial institution and we are working on in-app provisioning credit/debit cards with Apple Wallet. I'm wondering what the best practices are for testing? Is there any kind of Sandbox environment for testing? From my initial research it seems the only way is to test with a production build of the app with production/real credit cards and user accounts. Any help on this would be fantastic.

Hi, I am trying to put a MiFare DESFire v1 card on my apple wallet using my app. I can read the data and I think that the PkTransitPass should work. But I am really struggling to see how you make a pass with this. Do I need an Nfc certificate? Any help is much appreciated

i would also be very interested in finding documentation about this since I would like to add several offices to it. Since we have a good relationship with the hardware company that build the locks we are confident that we can upgrade the hardware without buying thousands of new locks.

Using build 20A5283p, checkCanRequestDocument is returning false, even on Simulator or Device with mock id profile installed. This is what I see in the console: 2022-06-14 12:07:58.717645-0400 MDLReader[529:16608] [Client] XPC connection error: Couldn’t communicate with a helper application. 2022-06-14 12:07:58.719067-0400 MDLReader[529:16608] [Client] DigitalPresentmentSession checkCanRequestDocumentType error from xpc: The operation couldn’t be completed. (DIIdentityErrorDomain error 1.) I am presuming either that the feature is not yet available or as noted here there is a new entitlement required that is not yet available. I did add a regular apple wallet entitlement with a merchant id tied to our developer account so just want to check to be sure I didn't miss something. Thanks!

Can a merchant decide if SCA (EMV 3D Secure) should be applied or not for an Apple Pay transaction? How can the merchant flag this option in the transaction request? Can Apple Pay transactions be executed without SCA? How can we read Apple Pay transaction response in order to understand if SCA was applied and what was the SCA result? Where can a merchant find more details about how to configure Apple Pay SCA transactions on his side? Thanks
