hi all,
Absolute newbie to Apple Business Manager here.. and can't seem to really get past step 1, and the tutorials aren't really helping so thought i'd reach out.
I run a small business (4 staff), and have purchased 3 iphone XR's for my staff to use.
I'm looking at having these 'managed' by my organisation, and deploy apps and settings as required.
I have registered the Apple Business Manager account, added the staff as 'staff' etc.
I've downloaded the Apple Configurator 2 on my MBP however can't seem to hit the next step where i setup the phones to be managed by the system..
any pointers?

Hi,
We have just signed up for and imported 100 phones into ABM. We have a 100 existing users who have all signed up to various iTunes accounts (some using the company domain, some not) which we need to migrate into ABM.
Has anyone done this before? If so is there a less painful method of doing it other than messing around with full itunes backups and resets of phones? I am guessing the restore bit will not be easy if the backup was taken from a different iTunes account to the restoring itunes account?
Any help greatly appreciated.

It has been three months since the application was made. I have tried both by email and phone. The reply is Ren, and the account registration is under review.

Hello,
What happens if my developer account was expired but I make renewal lately (in 3 months for example).
If after 3 months from expiration date, I renew my account then all my apps will be recovered or they are gone forever?
Thank you so much for your supports!

We have an app which is not allowed for the app store as it stated we need a custom app as the app is for an internal usecase only. The client has employees in France, Germany and Switzerland. They all have an own device (BYOD). Custom Apps Redeem Codes are for one country only. How can make the apps available for all of them without the hassle of an enterprise distribution (we don't have managed devices).
Hello,
I run a small company, and I'd like to start delivering enterprise apps for my customers. So I need them to have the app for specific people. It can be done for the general public because of the app's purpose.
What is the best account type to do it?
Now I'm talking about only one, and I'm pretty sure I'll need to develop more in the future.
Thanks!

Hello,
I'm looking for a way how to automate Assigning Devices to Organization (exactly how to set the Device status into Unassigned) in ABM via Python / Bash Script.
I can't find any information about ABM API :(
Maybe someone here tried something similar?
Thanks for any helpful advice!

When I was in 15.1, redeem codes issued from business apps were working fine. In 15.2 and 15.3, everything acts as if it was working, it says "your app is downloading", but that app it is not downloading. I've attached screenshots. I've looked also into the device logs, and I can't see any errors.

Good day.
I am in the process of launching an application for a client that will need to use Apple Business Manager, due to the type of application that was created for them.
My questions are:
Do the users of the application need to do any kind of registration or be invited to the organization to use the redemption codes?
Can a mass redemption code be used or must one be generated for each user?
Does the creation of each redemption code, as well as the Apple Business Manager account, have any additional cost associated with it after some threehold of use?
Thanks.
The MAC device is a device that has been manually added to the Apple Business Manager.
DEP profiles are normally installed in both iOS and iPadOS.
Profile descript error occurs only when attempting DEP of MacOS.
(If you look at the picture, a decryption error occurs in the remote device registration step.)
I asked Apple's customer center about this problem,
and it is said that it is caused by the lack of a key called "automatic registration on the MDM server"
The key cannot be found in the Apple official document related to the profile below.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/mdm/
Information received during DEP enroll of Macmini using Apple silicon.

}

}
Profile to be transmitted to the device (same as MacOS, iOS, IPadOS)
{

'CheckInURL': 'https://apm.xxxxx.com/checkin',

'SignMessage': False,
'Topic': 'com.apple.mgmt.External.206bfa63-f76a-4381-9e50-6f74241d14d9'
}
Because it uses the same profile structure, it is not understood that iOS/iPadOS operates normally and errors occur only in MacOS.
If there is anything that can help me, please let me know.
Thank you.

When a user clicks on the redemption link, it populates the code and asks for iTunes password if required.
Then it says it is downloading app, but nothing is downloaded and the redemption code expires.

I thought the discount would be applied automatically when the quantity of purchase is more than 20 but the discount doesn't get applied automatically. Has something changed or am I missing something?
See the screenshot attached.

Hello. As in the question title, I'd like to know if there is a way to get the list of the accounts that were registered by the user into the device. I'm not talking about the address-book of the device, but about the mail-accounts the user add in the settings of the device. I mean something like account-manager class in android. Thanks for your replies

We have an iOS app that is distributed as a Custom App using Apple Business Manager. Our customers are firms which do some final configuration (via MDM) on the app so that it is ready for their employess to use.
We now want to introduce Universal Links. The associated domain for these links corresponds to the respective server of the customer. We have tried out the links on a sample branch and it all works fine. But: Our product must not contain any customer-specific information. So we cannot enter the server addresses of the customers as associated domains in Xcode. I would expect there to be a way to register an associated domain via MDM using a configuraiton or profile, to circumvent the Apple Content Delivery Network. But I cannot find a way.
Does anybody have a clue?

MacOS ver. Monterey 12.1
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/devicemanagement/mdm
A device management profile is transmitted to the device with reference to the above link.
Both iOS and iPadOS devices operate normally in general enroll and DEP enroll.
In MacOS, Enroll operates normally in Userchannels.
This time, I purchased a MacMini device equipped with Apple Silicon and tried to test DEP registration, but an error occurs as follows.
"unable to decrypt encrypted profile"
Should Mac's DEP registration use a different payload profile method?
Let me know if you know something to refer to.
thank you.

I am manually Adding a Macmini with Apple silicon to "Apple Business Manager" using "Apple Configurator".
MacOS version is Monterey 12.1
I referred to the link below. (How to make DEP device)
https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/apple-configurator/welcome/ios
The following error message occurs when registering for remote device management after setting up Wi-Fi.
"unable to decrypt encrypted profile"
It is a profile that applies normally to IOS and IPad devices.
What is the problem?
Is mac different from Ipad, iphone in terms of profile(payload) encryption?
Mac devices are also normally enrolled with User-Channel
It is a problem that occurs only in devices that maked normal device to DEP devices.
No related information can be found in Apple's MDM specification.
If you know the information on this issue, I will wait for your answer.

Hi! I am trying to deploy a bunch of iPads for use in the field as part of a corporate pilot test. I want to put 3 instructional videos on the iPads for use by the end users.
My understanding is that there isn't an easy way to just create an icon on the iPad for each video. However, I don't want to build an app for each one and deploy on the App Store since these videos need to remain private.
Can anyone help suggest a good way to go about this and how to make it so that users see the videos on their home screen (could even have all videos embedded in a single app) but in a way that I can easily deploy the app(s) (possibly via an MDM) without publishing to the App Store?
Thanks!

My app was set to Private and Organization ID was correct. Why my app isn't show on Custom App menu. And when I click "Get Started" button on Custom App, nothing happen.
My App Store ID and Apple Business Manager ID are not of the same account.
