Well, I was hoping for some more bug fixes in Beta 5. Wow, was I disappointed. Here is what I have found so far.1. Setup User account still shows up for a Windows Domain joined machine after upgrade.2. Outlook 2016 still crashes on startup if connecting to Exchange account.3. Mark as NOT junk button still missing from Mail.app.4. Safari fonts and rendering still has issues.5. Spotlight still sluggish when first opened. And that's in the first 10 minutes. If (when) I find more I'll post them here. All bugs listed have been logged as bugs with Apple.

I have not been able to get an iCloud backup in iOS 9 beta 4. It runs for awhile, and then comes back "the last backup could not be completed".I've deleted iCould backup from the iPhone as well as from iCould storage. Nothing is showing in iCloud backup.I have ~196GB of space in iCloud showing available. There is 23.7MB in iCould Photo Library which look like some previous older photos. On the iPhone I have about 13GB of photos and 29GB of music as well as 2GB messages.Any help is appreciated so I can get this iCloud backup function working.I had earlier problems backing up to iTunes, but that is now working. I'm notsure if there is anything similar on the iCloud side of things. Thanks, Carl

I've been running iOS 9.0 public beta 1 for a while now, and I still don't see the option of updating to the third public beta anywhere.Settings -> General -> Software Update: iOS 9.0 is up to date. Nothing or public beta 3.I tried re-installing the profile, but it doesn't work.

What would cause this error when creating an App ID for an Apple Watch OS 2 extension?"An App ID with Identifier '<bundle id>.watchkitapp.watchkitextension' is not available. Please enter a different string."Can someone snipe our extension name? Did Xcode autogenerate an App ID but it remains hidden in the Member Center? This seems a ridiculous thing to waste a support incident on. I tried renaming the Watch OS 2 bundles, but iTunes Connect does not like the two Watch app bundles having different names. It explicitly disallows this: "Invalid Bundle Identifier. More than one WatchKit app bundle identifier"

We want to connect to a medical instrument with ipad. The medical instrument is like a wifi hotspot, but does not include bluetooth module. What we did before was encoding the ip address in the ssid, the app would get the ip address, then connected to the instrument. But in ios9 beta5, the getting ssid functions are blocked. How can we connect to our medical instrument without ssid? Or is there a way to read the router ip adress or DNS ip address?

I'm trying to use WCSession.sendMessage Watch -> Phone to have the phone perform some data retrieval and reply immediately. Now, the confusing part of this is that I'm not clear on if the iPhone is supposed to be woken up by this even if it is killed or suspened. The WCSession.sendMessage documentation states:"Calling this method from your WatchKit extension while it is active and running wakes up the corresponding iOS app in the background and makes it reachable. Calling this method from your iOS app does not wake up the corresponding WatchKit extension. If you call this method and the counterpart is unreachable (or becomes unreachable before the message is delivered), the errorHandler block is executed with an appropriate error. The errorHandler block may also be called if the message parameter contains non property list data types."However, the documentation for the corresponding WCSessionDelegate method states:"Use messages to communicate quickly with the counterpart process. Messages can be sent and received only while both processes are active and running."These statements seem conflicting, can anyone tell me what the expected behavior is? I'm currently seeing the latter, am hoping to achieve the former. Thanks!

When I set adjustsImageWhenAncestorFocussed to true on my UIImageView (inside a collection view cell) it seems that the contentMode setting is forced to ScaleAspectFill as opposed to my desired ScaleAspectFit. Is this a bug or expected? I don't want to have to make a choice between the awesome highlight effect you get for free when enabling the image adjustment on focus, and the scale to fit content mode...
I don't see the option anywhere but I have a game which is a straight viewcontroller using the focus engine, and everytime the focus changes the tv plays a sound. I was curious if there is a way to disable that so I can play my own game's sounds?
I'd installed the Beta El Capitan inline, which imported everything from my Yosemite system on my MBP, and everything, including Mail, worked fine. However, I wanted to do a clean install with the GM release. So I manually copied my User folder from my El Capitan Beta installation to an external HDD, and then did a clean install with El Capitan GM. Mail works fine with all IMAP folder configurations, (once I manually added the email accounts). However, there was one archive MBOX hierarchy, (called Work which has multiple sub-folders), which was stored "On My Mac", which I wanted to move over, and I mistakenly thought a simple copy process could move it.I first tried to copy this Work MBOX hierarchy, (18G, about 90k emails), from my backup ~/Library/Mail/V3/Mailboxes folder, to a manually created ~/Library/Mail/V3/Mailboxes folder, and after starting Mail, it doesn't show any folders as being "On My Mac". After reversing those changes, I tried copying the entire ~/Library/Mail/V3/Mailboxes folder from my backup to the new system, and still, Mail doesn't show any folders being "On My Mac". Finally, after reversing those changes, I tried copying the entire ~/Library/Mail and ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail from my backup to my new system, and again, Mail won't show any folders being "On My Mac".I even created some new mailboxes, which do show up as being "On My Mac" on my system, to try to find where these folders are created, and all I could determine is that Mail isn't creating a ~/Library/Mail/V3/Mailboxes folder for them. Lastly, I tried importing the mailbox from within Mail, and the exact same thing that happened to this user posting to the Apple Communities forum regarding Mail on OSX 10.10, happended to me. After selecting import mailbox, and then selecting Apple mail format, and the Work MBOX top level container, the import process comes back within a few seconds, and says that the new folder is in the folder called Imported, but nothing has been done, and there is no Imported folder. Is there no way to manually add an Apple Mail MBOX folder hierachy to an already running Apple Mail system? I know I've done it before with earlier versions.Worst case, I don't mind doing a complete Mail wipe and manual copy from backup, because I don't actually need anything Mail related on my new installation. So if there was some brute force way to copy over the entire Mail configuration from my prior El Capitan system, to this new clean install, it would at least get me my "On My Mac" folder archive back. Thanks for any guidance..

I have a UIViewController with a UICollectionView of "reviews." The user can select any review to be taken to a full-screen view with a collection view (populated by identical information) that the user can then scroll through. What I am trying to do is focus on the UICollectionViewCell (when they return from the full-screen view) that corresponds to the LAST review that the user saw in the full screen view.E.GView 1 (Collection View) --> View 2 (Full screen Collection View, paginated) --> View 1 (focused cell should reflect cell from view 2)-select review (cell) 1 -scroll to review (cell) 3 -review (cell) 3 should be focusedWhen the user returns from the View 2, I save the indexPath of the review cell and call scrollToItemAtIndexPath: atScrollPosition: animated:. But, this doesn't actually focus the cell, it simply shifts the UICollectionView so that the targeted cell is at the "atScrollPosition" I am overriding the func preferredFocusView: UIView { get { return self.preferredFocusViewTest }} so that I can manually set different views as the "preferredFocusView" and I was wondering how I would be able to set a specific UICollectionViewCell as the preferredFocusView.Currently, once returning to View 1, I am calling: self.testCollectionView.scrollToItemAtIndexPath(NSIndexPath(forRow: index, inSection: 0), atScrollPosition: .Left, animated: false) self.preferredFocusViewTest = self.testCollectionView self.setNeedsFocusUpdate() self.updateFocusIfNeeded()To force a focus update immediately, but focus never changes from the original (in the above example, review 1). I am able to scroll and then shift focus manually to a test button for example, but cannot change focus in the collection view.Thank you!
I'm trying to share cached data between a tvOS app and a TVService extension. I crated an app group and get a directory based on the identifier. All works fine in the simulator. On the tvOS dev kit however the app does not have write permission the app group directory.I realize the restrictions on tvOS but shared cache data in app groups should be possible according the FAQ:For temporary local storage, apps may access the NSTemporaryDirectory and NSCachesDirectory in their own container, or NSCachesDirectory in a shared container. So how do I get access to the caches in the app group container? has anybody here got this working?
