On the internet I have found tutorials how to create a free (restricted) developer account however in this tutorials there are different descriptions how to register an iOS device with the acount in xcode in order to install apps that I develop.Is there any official tutorial from apple how to do this?Or can some member of Apple staff confirm that this tutorial https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/ios/getting_started/installation/device_provisioning/free-provisioning/ work for Xcode version 9.2, please?Thanks in advancePetra

**Profiles and Logs - Download link is incorrect ** I know how to download a profile / log but what gets downloaded is not what I want I download sysdiagnose (Unredacted) and Software Update both for iOS and both download the same incorrect profile Messages (iOS). It happens every time I download these two profiles / logs. Apple Developer refuse to give tech support because I have no paid membership but I do have a basic developer account and as such these profiles / logs are available for download but Apple are being unreasonable refusing to give tech support regarding these profiles / logs. Apple told me to use the forums but I cannot see how a forum can help unless I suppose a paid member takes my case up with Apple Developer on my behalf. Anyway here goes nothing

Whenever I'm on this site on Safari and I log in, after a little while pages will load very very slow or not at all and reeplies to posts will fail over and over. In general this website becomes unusable under safari and upon restarting (i can't just log out because that won't work either) Safari, everything works again. This affects the documentation pages too, not just the forums. So I'll quit, log in, try to put in my post as fast as possible before I can't anymore. I usually copy and paste my post before hitting submit incase my time has ran out.

How do I get the answer id of an answer in a thread? I would like to know how to create a link to a specific answer of a post so I can refer to a specific answer rather than to the top of the page of the post. I noticed one link went to this address - https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/67535?answerId=195112022#195112022. That's where I learned about the "answerId" item.

Hi thereQuite new to the FxPlug SDK and had a look through it. I wondered whether there was a way for a plug-in to set and get the positions of tracked points that the user has set up (in a behaviour object) and whether it was possible to set keyframes on the active camera via this interface.I can't see anything obvious in the methods, apart from a 4x4 matrix object that might relate to the active camera, I don't know, but wondered whether it might be possible if the user e.g. dropped the active camera object onto the plug-in in the Inspector view... could we get a handle on it then? Similarly if they drop an Analyze motion behaviour onto the plug in, can we get access to its track points?Any examples that are knocking about would be very useful. Seems a lot of the documentation is a little out of date (at least that I've found so far).In hope and with thanks,

Conf: MacOS 12.2 (21D49) Safari Technology Preview Release 139 (Safari 15.4, WebKit 17613.1.14.41.3) But the pages open correctly on Firefox, Chrome. Does not open either on Safari Version 15.3 (17612.4.9.1.5) So issue is apparently on Safari probably not MacOS 12.2 (21D49) , nor on server side.

Many people post questions on these forums that have detailed answers in articles and blog posts from people who aren't Apple employees. It would be nice to link to these articles when answering questions on these forums. But if you try to link to a non-Apple URL, you get an error message that the domain is invalid. To post the link, you have to remove the https://www part of the link. This forces people to cut and paste the URL into the browser to read the article when they should get a clickable link. If you're worried about spam links, then either require posters to have a minimum reputation score or have a minimum number of posts to submit answers with external links.

I am preparing to use an iPhone 5 to use for testing apps with XCode. I have restored the iPhone to factory settings without using a passcode. Now the iPhone and iTunes are asking for an Apple ID to activate the iPhone -- the Apple ID associated with this iPhone. That Apple ID is already being used with another iPhone. What should I do? Is there a way to bypass using an Apple ID altogether? Can one Apple ID be used with two different iPhones?

I have created a custom parameter via the FxParameterCreationAPI and it shows up and works fine in motion.I'd like to expose that parameter to Final Cut Pro using a motion effect template but, I can't select the "Publish parameter" menu entry like it's the case with standard parameter types. The same also happens for the OptionsDialog example in the FxPlug SDK.Any hints on how I can achieve that?Thanks.Best,Ray

Hi,My company is an MFi licesee. We develop audio accessories. Our newest product will feature a USB Type-C receptacle and typically appear as a USB 2.0 device on it. The product interfaces iPhone/computer/other smartphone to hifi kits with stunning sound quality.Here is my question: Is it possible to implement USB Role Reversal on such a receptacle in combination with your USB-C to Lightning cable (A1702)?By this I mean have the USB-C receptacle on my device accept the USB-C plug on the A1702 (which is probably hardcoded with resistors to appear as a USB-C device itself), negotiate with an MFi chip in my product, and then switch to device role.At the same time, the default configuration of the USB-C receptacle should be to appear as a device when interfacing computers and Android units.I am searching for convenient ways to use iPhones with my product. The present solution (camera adapter + USB A to C cable) is not very user friendly.Best regards,Børge
