Liquid Glass App Icons without Icon Composer
We have found that on iOS 26 beta some of our app icons built from an Xcode 16 asset catalog containing a single 1024x1024 .png file have a Liquid Glass effect applied to them while others have not. The documentation states that If you choose not to use Icon Composer, you can still use an AppIcon asset catalog in your project containing individual app icon images and let the system apply the Liquid Glass material. and If you prefer, you can take advantage of the system’s automatically generated treatment that is applied to all app icons. Is there any insight into how the system treats app icons that have not yet been updated with Icon Composer?

Icon Composer icon changes font (!) in output
Hi, I'm experiencing a super weird and unexpected issue using Icon Composer (Version 1.0 (40)) and Xcode 26 beta 7. I have an icon that includes some minimal text in the icon, as part of the branding of the app. The text is an SVG layer in Icon Composer. Icon Composer has no idea this is text, just a regular SVG layer. When I import the resulting .icon file into Xcode, it appears correct in the Xcode preview. However, when building the app and installing it on the iOS 26 simulator, the font of the text in the icon changes (to the system default font?). It is also cropped, cut off, and off-center. I replicated this with a simple standalone icon and clean project. Is anyone else seeing this?

AppIcon not showing in MacAppstore and Testflight in Tahoe
We’ve been using the new Icon Composer–generated app icons for our existing universal bundle (iOS + Mac Catalyst) app. The icons work perfectly for iOS on the App Store. On macOS Tahoe (macOS 26), however, the App Store listing doesn’t display the app icon — it just shows placeholder while downloading. After the app is installed, the icon displays fine everywhere (Dock, Finder, Launchpad, etc.). Setup: using .iconset generated via Icon Composer, bundled with .png inside the .icon file. On older macOS App Stores, the app icon shows as expected. On Tahoe App Store only, the issue appears. Could this be because the App Store expects .svg variants inside the .icon file for proper display in the Store? Or is there any updated requirement for Mac App Store metadata icons vs. bundled app icons? Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Programmatically overriding Liquid Glass dock icon?
Hello, I recently updated my app’s icon to use the new Liquid Glass style by adding an .icon file created with Icon Composer to my project. Previously, I had two image sets (light and dark versions of the app icon), and I’d implemented a settings option that let users either manually select their preferred icon, or let the app automatically switch between light/dark based on the system appearance. Is there a way to achieve the same behavior with the new Liquid Glass .icon file?Specifically, can I programmatically override the system-selected Liquid Glass dock icon and force a particular variant? Thank you.

Icon Composer - Icon not visible in Fitness App
Hi everyone, we’re developing an app that lets users export selected bike rides to the HealthKit ecosystem. We created our app icon using the Apple Icon Composer and referenced the composer file in Xcode. Everything works fine, except that the logo doesn’t appear correctly in the Fitness app. Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to fix it?

App icon not displaying correctly in AppStore
I'm having a strange issue with my iOS app icon rendering in the App Store - it seems to be low-res and clipping part of the image. I updated the icon in Icon Composer to apply the liquid glass overlay for the new build. It looks fine on the device and the asset itself isn't corrupted. I think it might be a resolution issue since the small icon thumbnails in App Store Connect have the same problem, but they look fine when I click through to the larger preview. Has anyone else run into this and figured out a fix?

Disable automatic Liquid-Glass app icon generation
Hi. On my iOS app, both the app store and the device are making changes to my app icon to make it look more Liquid-Glass. See attached image showing my original icon, and then how it appears on the app store and on devices. There is an added bevel/3d effect. I'd like to not have this happen. Did anybody figure out how to turn this off? So that the icon appears as submitted. I've played around with Icon Composer a bit but haven't managed to turn this off there. And would prefer to just submit the png's. Thank you!

Icon Composer preview and App Store icon look different
Hello, I made my app icon with Icon Composer and added the .icon file directly to my Xcode project. I noticed that the icon preview in Icon Composer looks one way, while the icon shown on the App Store looks different. Details: I am using the .icon file directly in the project I am not using an exported PNG for the app icon I did not add a separate background image The background was set with fill in Icon Composer The preview in Icon Composer looks as expected The App Store version has a different appearance I would like to ask whether this difference may come from: App Store processing caching or a recommended Icon Composer setup for background fill If anyone has seen something similar, I would appreciate any guidance. I can also share screenshots of the Icon Composer preview and the App Store result.

Icon Composer: Unable to Submit App to App Store Connect After Adding iOS 26 App Icon
Hello, I added a new iOS 26 app icon created with Icon Composer (named AppIcon) to my app, while keeping the previous version's icon (in Asset Catalog format, also named AppIcon). However, I found that once the bundle contains the Icon Composer icon file, the app cannot be submitted to App Store Connect. I received the following App Store Connect errors: ITMS-90022: Missing required icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPhone / iPod Touch of exactly '120x120' pixels, in .png format for iOS versions >= 10.0. To support older versions of iOS, the icon may be required in the bundle outside of an asset catalog. Make sure the Info.plist file includes appropriate entries referencing the file. See https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/information_property_list/user_interface. ITMS-90023: Missing required icon file - The bundle does not contain an app icon for iPad of exactly '152x152' pixels, in .png format for iOS versions >= 10.0. To support older operating systems, the icon may be required in the bundle outside of an asset catalog. Make sure the Info.plist file includes appropriate entries referencing the file. See https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/information_property_list/user_interface. ITMS-91111: Missing app icon - Include a large app icon as a 1024 by 1024 pixel PNG for the 'Any Appearance' image well in the asset catalog of apps built for iOS or iPadOS. Without this icon, apps can't be submitted for review. For details, visit: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/configuring-your-app-icon. Environment: Xcode 26 beta 3 FB: FB18987592

iPhone app Liquid Glass icon on iPad not respecting icon display mode
Hi, I'm updating my iPhone app (iPhone only) to be ready with iOS 26. I'm building my app using Xcode 26.0 beta 6 (17A5305f) and testing it on an iPad running iPadOS 26 (23A5326a). I found an issue with my new app icon updated using Icon Composer and I was able to find the issue. An iPhone only app running on iPadOS 26 doesn't use the provided app icon. It always displays the "standard" light icon. I just added iPad in Supported Destinations and the app icon now respect light/dark/translucent/tinted modes on the Home Screen. I submitted feedback FB19768667

Having both watchOS 26 and watchOS 11 icons
I'm trying to update the icon of my app for watchOS 26, and I'm having troubles providing both a layered Liquid Glass icon for watchOS 26 users and a pre-rendered bitmap icon (in various sizes) for watchOS 11 and older users. Whatever I do; I either get a blurry, scaled-down watchOS 26 icon on watchOS 11; or watchOS 11's bitmap icons on watchOS 26. While I could get the wanted result on macOS 26 and iOS 26, I simply can't get an equivalent result with watchOS 26.

Icon composer won't allow me to import any files
I have been battling the new Icon Composer app for 2 days trying to build an app icon. However, I cannot get it to import any files. I have used the Apple provided App Icon Template. I have exported my layers to .svg and when I open the finder, everything is disabled. I can't find help for this anywhere. I am on Sequoia on my Mac and not sure how to design this app icon without access to the composer.

Icon Composer's minimum window size is too big for smaller MacBook video modes
I've filed a FB already through standard channels (FB ID: FB19032008) but I'll post it here in case it may get some attention from others experiencing similar issues. On macOS 26 Beta 5 and Xcode 26 Beta 5 (and earlier revisions afaik) Icon Composer specifies a minimum window size that greatly exceeds the bounds of the 1280x800/832pt video modes available on 13in MacBooks, and which also is too large for the default 1440x900 video mode on non-notched 13in MacBook Air/Pro models as this causes a default-size 64pt dock to occlude the window. I've attached screenshots depicting this behaviour in the two above described cases. Best solution seems like reducing min window size to something that will fit reasonably in a 1280x800pt viewport including the dock and menu bar (e.g. 1000x600 or something).

Automatic App Icon Style Change in iOS 26
After updating from iOS 18 to iOS 26, our app icon appears to have automatically received the new 'Liquid Glass' effect. We confirmed that this change occurred without us releasing a new app update. My questions are: Is this a system behavior where iOS 26 automatically applies the new icon style to existing apps? If so, is it possible for a developer to control or customize this effect? I am also wondering if there are any methods other than using Icon Composer.

Device fails to render icons as they appear in Icon Composer
This app icon features multiple layers with the blend mode set to Screen. iOS fails to render these despite looking perfectly fine in Icon Composer. This is unacceptable. How can a designer build an icon if they can't rely on it being displayed like the preview on a device? Filed as FB20052048 with the .icon file attached.
