We have developed an application in which the microphone is used constantly. When opening the web app and starting a recording on the iPad (9th generation - iOS 15.5), we get a message whether the specific url may have access to the microphone. If we selected 'allow', we can record every time in the same session without any problems. If we close the browser and go to the url again, we have to give permission again. This is very annoying for the user. How can we solve this? On the iPad there is no option for Edge to allow the mic for specific urls, this is only possible on Safari. Thanks! Berend

In our app, we connect the mouse to the iPad and move the cursor to the end of the 4 corners and click, then the tap action does not work. Is this because of the hot corner motion, Apple made the 4 corner tap motion not occur? Or is there a way to get a tap gesture when clicking in each corner?

Great what you did in iPadOS 16, this is a giant step towards bigger major updates, what we want now in iPadOS 17 is the following: 1- We want a “terminal” system on the iPad with the ability to use it in programming and development, and allow applications to access it in order to create professional IDE copies for the iPad. 2- We hope to have a copy of one of the professional programs on Mac, such as F CUT PRO or XCODE. 3- Improving the stage manager further to become more effective and more real. 4- Take advantage of the empty top space that lies between the battery charge number and the watch, so that there are larger items that we can take advantage of such as a Mac, or even something better than a Mac. We want you to wow us with the iPadOS 17 update. Good luck..

I was running iPadOS 16.0 beta 3 with developer mode enabled and all was good. For reasons that are not important to this post, I had to do an "Erase All Contents and Settings". After the OS reinstall, I signed-in with the same Apple Id as before, I re-downloaded the beta profile from Apple, and went to enable "developer mode" (which requires a reboot). However, upon restart, developer mode remains disabled. I tried several times, but developer mode just won't turn on. Now I'm left with no device to test iOS16 apps :-(

Is there a way to determine whether the current device has a physical home button or not? I am building part of a UI which is very much like the Files app - it has buttons for "iCloud Documents" and "Documents on this device". For the latter, it will use a suitable symbol from SF Symbols i.e. "iphone" or "ipad" (or something for Macs). Just like the Files app. But I notice that the Files app uses the ".homebutton" symbol variants on older devices that have a physical home button. What is the easiest way to replicate that? I was considering looking at the "iPhoneNN,M" string and comparing it with the model number of the first devices without a physical button, but that is complicated by e.g. the current iPhone SE, which is "iPhone14,6". I don't want to have to maintain a table. Is there some easy way to do this? Thanks.

We have several iPads, locked down using an MDM where users use a web clip to open Safari, which opens our site, and a real time two way video runs. Unfortunately, in many office environments, the video stream seems to fail intermittently. In review with the network team addressing the usual suspects, like bandwidth, latency, etc, we found something unusual. We found network traffic which may be iCloud Private Relay - However the iPads are locked down not allowing iCloud login, and we do not have iCloud plus subscriptions, whish is a prereq for this feature. Interestingly, most traffic from the iPad, including our app do not appear to be using the relay. Client security policy is to block QUIC and private relay. See Allow for network traffic audits. The iPad reaching out using QUIC (UCP/443) to 5 addresses. 17.248.254.101 17.248.354.103 172.224.75.4 172.224.75.6 172.224.75.9 Of course we know Apple controls the 17.0.0.0/8 network, and some quick research shows 172.224.75 is a part of Akami's network, commonly used by Apple. There are nearby egress ranges on Akami associated with Apple Private Relay. The documents here do shed some light, but not definitive that this is iCloud Private relay. We reviewed several Apple articles, and these were the closest match: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210060 https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202944 Since we do not have iCloud let alone iCloud Plus, we cannot follow this article's steps to disable iCloud Private relay. we're on iOS 15.5 in iPads gen 6 through 9. Can we confirm what this traffic really is? If it is iCloud Private relay, Why is it being invoked without a subscription? is there any additional means of controlling it?

I have a NetGear Orbi 6e Mesh network. With the latest beta update, I can’t connect to the main 2.4, 5, 6 network. I can only connect to the IOT network which is 2.4 and 5 and lower security. Non beta iPhones and iPads don’t have a problem connecting. The problem is iPhone and iPad.

In iPad with OS 15.4 and above, after removing the SIM card, cellular network data shows enable and the device returns some default Network values (which are wrong than the actual values): Network provider name : "CTRadioAccessTechnologyLTE" (4G Network) CTCarrier { Carrier name: [iPad] Mobile Country Code: [234] Mobile Network Code:[25] ISO Country Code:[gb] Allows VOIP? [YES] } I am using CoreTelephony to get the above data. Steps to reproduce the issue: Remove SIM from iPad. Toggle Cellular data in the Settings from ON to OFF and reverted to ON. Root Cause of the issue: The device considers as a SIM is available even though it is not inserted.

Hey I need help, one night I plugged in my iPad like normal and then the next morning it was dead. I plugged it in and the no charger plugged in symbol showed up even though it was plugged in. I cleaned the ports, tried different plugs (USB type c) and different outlets and still nothing. It does charge for a couple seconds and then I have to un plug and re plug until I got it up to 2 percent where it is now. Can someone help me and tell me why this is happening?

I have an App for Iphone and Ipad. in my UIViewController, the subviews installed depend of the different classes (CR, RC, CC, RR) because possible widths of the view are not the same. This work very well on Iphone, because the width of the view is different, depending on the class (CR, RC, CC). But for Ipad, the class is RR, no matter the orientation. Or in portrait and landscape, of course, width is not the same. In Interface Builder, I don't find a way to have subviews installed for Ipad in landscape and not in Portrait. Is there a way to handle this, or do I have to handle this programatically?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but does Apple Silicon (on the Mac, iPhone, and iPad) support ARMv8-A, ARMv8-M or ARMv9? Also, has Apple added any custom functionality to the instruction set found in Apple Silicon?

Hi, I was on my iPad but I turned it off by accident. I used a Touch ID to get back in but it kept failing, so then it told me to enter my passcode. Funny thing is the keyboard didn't show up at all! I tried turning it on and off, trying to get in with different ways, but those didn't work. I would send an image but it won't allow me.. Can someone please help and tell me what is happening here?

Apple has a recent policy [5.1.1(ix)] requiring medical apps like mine to be submitted by healthcare organizations, not individual physician programmers like me. I have an app I worked on for a couple months, loaded it to AppStoreConnect, sent it out on Test Flight, good feedback, ready to release. But cannot release as individual physician. So went to my employer healthcare organization. They'd be happy to publish my app. I now have credentials within their developers account. When I try to upload my same app (rebuilt with new certificates and identifiers for organization), I can't get it to upload because Apple flags my upload as copying someone else's material -- I suspect my own material! It sees that "Cardiovascular Risk" app submitted under my healthcare organization is just like my "cardiovascular Risk" app submitted also by me under my personal developers account! If the app were already approved at least once, I could transfer it. But since never approved for the App Store, I cannot use the Transfer App process that Apple offers. I already tried changing the name of the app, the display name, the details in the bundle identifier, and I made sure to remake the necessary certificates and profiles and app ID with my newly joined organization account. Any ideas? Not sure who at Apple to reach out to. Not a code issue. Not exactly an account issue. Not a legal issue, although the problem is sorta me copying the material of myself, so I did drop them a line. Help! Best, -- Josh

I am trying to upload app previews for iPad having done so successfully for iPhone. No matter how hard I try the store rejects them claiming "Your app preview contains unsupported or corrupted Audio". I am using Mac OS Ventura. Has anyone else hit this issue?

Years ago I used to use the Apple Pencil to play pubg. I used to move with my left hand and use the pencil in my right to control the view and shoot. I played today for the first time in a while and the pencil no longer works if my hand is already using the left side. Please tell me there’s a fix for this!!
