Anyone seeing trouble with external USB hubs after installing the Monterey developer beta?
I have an ikling FX-1940E hub that I've been using with my M1 MacBook Air. Everything worked fine under Big Sur, and still does on another machine still running Big Sur, but I can't connect a trackball or keyboard via the hub's USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports to the Air since installing Monterey. The hub's VGA port still works on Monterey; I haven't been able to test the other ports yet. Also, a different hub (with fewer ports, so it can't simply replace the ikling) does work.
I've reported the issue to Apple using the feedback assistant. Any suggestions for anything else I can do at my end?

Since I upgraded my MBP 2020 M1 to Monterey, the 'Tap to click' is almost unusable.
This issue is still not resolved in the 12.1 beta 3.
Its almost impossible to do my work on my MBP...
Please revert any Trackpad changes !
The very good 'Tap to click' was one of the reasons to buy a MBP.

Whelp, I learned a lovely lesson about Lacie today. Their customer driver extensions on MacOS are ultimately as bad as I figured they would be and it seems to have bitten them in the ***. It seems their current drivers aren't compatible with M1 Mac minis (and I haven't seen a single post/article mentioning this). I was planning on migrating my Plex server from an i3 Mac mini to an M1 based device, but now I have to reshuffle my setup with another one of my computers due to lack of driver compatibility (and no advertised lack of support). I'm seriously considering getting rid of my Lacie 6Big at this point and swapping it out for an OWC thunderbolt 3 rack supported DAC. -\_-. I'm hoping other people just read this because honestly, I have nothing but nasty remarks towards Lacie in this regarding considering their #1 use for their RAIDs involves the people who will be buying M1 Macs. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

I have a new MBP M1, with fresh Monterey. I moved my data with the assistant from the old MBP, I have all the letters in Outlook (v15.46), but search in Outlook not works, it gives a "No results found" message in all folders. Old methods for reindex Spotlight is not working (eg. add and remove Main Profile to Spotlight). How can I solve this problem? Thanks

App sandbox is enable error
I don't know if it's an error or something like that, but I can't use my iPhone 12 camera as webcam with my Mac Studio in Facetime and Quicktime. I'm using a 27" LG screen without webcam. Is it necesary to get by?
What's the thing? Anybody with my issue?
thanks...

Hello,
I have been searching for any related issues with the problem I am encountering. When I try to view macros and run it on my excel, it states "License information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment". Currently working on Excel office home & student 2021
Any recommendations on how it can be fixed? Tried already changing the setting to "enable all macros" and trust access to VBA but still not working.
Thanks!

After updating to Big Sur 11.3.1 my MacBook Pro 2013 keeps ejecting my 2TB Seagate external drive. As a result, I'm not able to back up using Time Machine. Would be happy to get support for this issue.

Hello everyone,
I'm having a little issue with mounting my external hard drive lately. I've tried quite a few methods in hope of getting it to work again, but so far, no luck. I hope someone can help me solve this issue, or those who have the same problem may also share your insights.
My external hard drive was working fine about a week ago. But one day, I ejected the hard drive and the icon disappeared, so I thought it was safe to unplug it. When I did, it said the hard drive was not properly removed. It still works fine when I use it the next day, but the same thing happened. It said the drive was not properly removed after I ejected the drive, waited for the icon to disappear, and then unplugged the drive. After that, it never works again, and the attached images are the info I got when I tried to mount or run first aid on this drive.
Please help & thank you in advance!
Computer: 27" iMac - MacOS Monterey
External Hard Drive: WD_Black 4TB. APFS encrypted

I've not seen this one covered elsewhere, and whilst I've already tried the Feedback Assistant to get it to Apple, I'm not sure if it's being picked up or looked at there...The problem I've encountered is that whenever I use Disk Utility to create an APFS encrypted volume within a container, it works, but only until I reboot. When I reboot, after looking in I'm prompted for the password for the volume. I'm 100% certain of the passphase I used, but, after entering it the UI "shakes" to indicate the passphrase was wrong. If I try again, either with the same passphrase, or, trying something like my login password, the UI will go away, but, the volume does not mount. In Disk Utility I get the error:Could not mount “Data”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49218.)And that's that. I've now lost some data permanently, which is a bit frustrating. I excluded that volume from TimeMachine backups to ensure that there weren't unencrypted copies of the data floating about anywhere (even though my TM volume is encrypted (HFS+, not APFS)).Sadly, this is 100% repeatable, and I've had it happen a few times. Thankfully, not much data has been lost forever, but, it makes it tough to trust APFS Encryption.Steps that I took to do this:1) Had a new HD inserted in my MacPro (2019)2) Drive was formatted with GUID partition map3) Initial APFS container created (no encryption)4) Once Container existed, as well as initial whole-disk-sized APFS volume, I clicked on the Container and "+" to create a new container.5) Chose APFS Encryption as the FS, generated a passphrase with 1Password, and am certain it's accurate. 6) Volume mounted just fine, was able to read/write data to it no problem7) RebootedAnd that's where it went off the rails. Has anyone had better and more reliable experience with APFS Encrypted volumes?

Dove in and upgraded two Macs today to beta 1. Unfortunately, it appears L2TP VPN is broken or something changed in the way it works. I can longer get a connection to any VPN concentrator I used previously. I tested with Cisco Anyconnect SSL VPN client and can connect to the same concentrators (as they're configured to accept L2TP or SSL clients).
I also tested from my phone running iOS 16 beta and it still works for the L2TP connections.
The Mac not working with L2TP VPN ppp.log shows this
Fri Jun 10 19:18:52 2022 : L2TP connecting to server 'IP removed' (IP removed)...
Fri Jun 10 19:18:52 2022 : IPSec connection started
Fri Jun 10 19:18:52 2022 : IPSec phase 1 client started
Fri Jun 10 19:19:02 2022 : IPSec connection failed
Connecting a Mac successfully on 12.4 the log shows
Fri Jun 10 19:12:33 2022 : L2TP connecting to server 'IP removed' (IP removed)...
Fri Jun 10 19:12:33 2022 : IPSec connection started
Fri Jun 10 19:12:33 2022 : IPSec phase 1 client started
Fri Jun 10 19:12:33 2022 : IPSec phase 1 server replied
Fri Jun 10 19:12:34 2022 : IPSec phase 2 started
Fri Jun 10 19:12:34 2022 : IPSec phase 2 established
Fri Jun 10 19:12:34 2022 : IPSec connection established
(and then a ton more lines of the entire process ending with client getting an IP that I won't bother posting)
VPN wasn't high on my list of apps I was concerned about breaking with the beta. But, now that it is broke and I need it for work I'm kinda screwed myself.
Anyway, if anyone knows a way to fix this please let me know.

As the title says CGDisplayCopyAllDisplayModes does not appear to return ALL of the display modes. I've attached a screenshot showing a list of the modes returned by CGDisplayCopyAllDisplayModes. Notice that a CGDisplayMode with the currently used mode ID# 13 is not in the list. My second screen, a non-Retina display, seems to behave as expected.
How do you find 'all' of the CGDisplayModes for an Apple Studio Display?

Hello my fellow apple enjoyers my name is Jackson.
I have an idea to share with you today that utilises existing apple hardware as well as slightly designing a new product.
My idea is a sketch pad for MacBooks / iMacs, this idea will include a digital sketch pad that can connect to your computer via Bluetooth or wire, possibly varying in sizes (maybe a 10x10 inch and a more rectangle one) and it will let you to use the Apple Pencil to allow you to sketch notes, draw and use with Adobe programs such as photoshop, premiere pro, light room and after effects
Just a simple idea that I think would be awesome to see come to life and will be an awesome product for the more creative people that like the bigger iPad Pro and pencil combos!

Hello,
since I am new Mac user I need some help for understanding the logs. I have been dealing with some hackers recently so this looks suspicious to me. Since I have found out two years ago that hackers are exploiting Iphones with Airtunes Airspd - I have some questions about my Mac logs right now. My bluetooth is off.

I have pretty much a good experience with the first macOS Ventura beta. Except every time I close my 2018 MacBook Pro and assume it's going to sleep, it just stays on and I end up with a dead battery. Is there anyway to fix this? I have the 'disable display from going to sleep' setting when on Power Adapter, but it seems to be doing the same thing when it's not connected? or just not entering a sleep state. About to apply Beta 2 but thought I'd mention this.

Hi,
I have a MacBook M1 chipset machine; clean setup with macOS Big Sur 11.6.7. Whenever an app try to access another app, system prompts an alert box with 'Don't Allow' & 'OK' buttons.
When I click on 'OK' button or 'Don't Allow' button, nothing happens and the dialog remains there forever.
What should be the problem? How do I fix this issue?
Why system is not responding for user consent alert box actions (OK or Don't Allow)?
Thanks
-Maju

Hello, all. I’m a college student who’s just trying to get by. I’ve read these forums for weeks when issue first started. Found it’s best to be short and precise, I’ll do my best. Hopefully y’all can help me fix this or find a someone i can pay to hack back lol
-Malware first attacked my MacBook Air ‘15, and compromised every account I’ve ever made on internet, then got onto iPhone, iPad via iCloud— breached bank acct, stole $1.2k usd BTC, etc (May 27th, 2021)
-Device: iPhone 12 Pro Max, IPad Air 7th gen
-Took to apple store they found all three devices were jailbroken with ***** and iCloud passwords. Also, trust certs and filtered internet results.
-Apple guy put both in recovery mode via company laptop, which from what I understand wiped current iOS and put on a new copy. I got a new router from ISP. Idk how to build a better firewall or router myself.
-issues appeared to be fixed until (6/18) when I noticed my screen turning green hues when I access things like messages, camera, school information—important stuff. Mainly my txt messages. iPhone got really slow and hot.
-I didn’t connect my laptop to the new network. All devices connected were fresh iOS.
-Eventually, the phone got so slow again I went to geek squad at Best Buy to again wipe os and put new copy on their laptop. I need my phone to access school stuff for this summer term.
-When the technician plugged in the phone to iTunes, he said the phone registered as brand new w/ zero files when it obviously has a few apps, and contacts I accumulated since apple guy first restored it. I created a new iCloud for set up after both restores.
-It’s been less than 24 hrs since the 2nd restore and my disbelief in learning the device registered as new/clean.
-Data analytics appeared ~6 min after setup screens via cellular data with crash reports.
-I know it’s not good for one to look at these if ones not well versed in their meanings. I literally didn’t touch the phone and I was seeing same reports as when ***** was on there.
-I turned the phone on and off with all apps closed to see if something would happen in analytics.
-Crash reports correspond to the green hue on screen. Here’s one example. It’s like the system crashed entirely so a new one could be rewritten.
3 questions:
How probable is it for recovery mode to fail via an Apple technician’s laptop, that enough data survives to blossom into new keyloggers, etc I had before with Cyadia?
Is it probable this issue tied to my cells imei?
What’s the likely reason many private frameworks around remote management and crypto, two issues from the past, on a crash report titled as a new issue I’m experiencing?
(I apologize for grammar mistakes) THANK YOU!! <3

I've bought an iPhone 12 Mini 4 days ago and since then it has been restarting every day. Now it's something like 5-6 restarts in total.
I went to Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics & Improvements -> Analytics Data to see if I could find any bug reports there and I found 5 panic-full reports. They all had the same socld:
"0x00008101".
