Hi! I'm trying to add builds to my external group for TestFlight. I can choose a couple of older builds, but not the latest one. Why is it that I can't add newer builds to the external group in TestFlight? Is there some criteria that isn't met? Have I missed something in App Store Connect or is it something in the binary that needs to be solved/added? Here is a screenshot from the "Add build" overlay. Latest build is 173 but the latest one that I can choose from is 160 (which is already added and reviewed): Thankful for any input in this. PS. I'm the designer and publisher, not that adversed in Xcode and usually spend my time in App Store Connect only.

Hi, I'd like to submit my App for review for to allow external testing in TestFlight. The App itself should confirm to all App Store requirements (at least to my best knowledge), but is all the "metadata" required for TestFlight Review - so App description, Screenshots, Privacy Policy and all this in App Store Connect? I have not filled that yet and wanted to wait until the actual beta testing is done - in case some changes are made that would require update all of that otherwise. I hope I can get the TestFlight review without having to fill all that out for now...

I realise this is a duplicate issue, but I think it's fair to continue to highlight what has been a problem for at lease the last 7 years now. https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/5802 I have 150 users that agreed to beta test my app, but only about 30 installs as the whole TestFlight system has many issues which add so much friction to onboarding users. In todays environment, we need to make it as simple as possible for users to get on our apps, TestFlight does not help. Half the emails never arrive for random reasons and need to be resent When they do arrive, they end up in the spam folder. After they do get the email the TestFlight user experience is laborious to say the least. There must be a better way. One option is to use the public link, however my app is not ready for untrusted users otherwise I would simply publish to the App Store. If we could generate a single use link in App Store Connect this would fix all the issues, we could send a branded email with instructions from our own domain and avoid any spam filter problem. This link exists already, it is basically the link that is sent in the email we just need access to these unique links to send to our users. TestFlight allows up to 10000 users, I wonder how many apps have ever gotten more than 100 on there considering how poor the experience is and how poorly apple are supporting this. Again, there must be a better way.

When submitting my app to TestFlight, I am asked whether my app uses encryption or not. My app only uses HTTPS encryption. On Apple Developer Documentation I have found that HTTPS should be typically exempt from export documentation requirements, so does it mean I should select NO? Eventually, does selecting NO mean I am obliged to submit a self-classification report to the U.S. government or I should submit it regardless of the choice? Thank you for answers.

I am in the process of putting my first ever app on test flight and it is now asking me whether I use encryption, and then if it's exempt. I am using Flutter and Google Firebase for basically everything, authentication, storing the data of the users on cloud firestore, reading data from cloud firestore, saving images in the storage buckets. I have spent hours trying to figure out what to answer on the compliance questions and I have found different answers it feels like. What should we put? I mean it uses HTTPS to communicate with Firebase so yes we are using encryption, but is it exempt? What do we have to do in the future? ugh

I want to use TestFlight to distribute a beta version of my app but I don't want it to point to my production environment. After testing, I would like to submit a build to the app store that point to my production environment. However, I do not want to include a setting in my app that allows for changing environments because I don't want production users doing that. What is the best practice in this case? For now, I am not using TestFlight to distribute my beta version and then I separately make a build pointing to production that gets sent to Apple.

I installed iOS 16 on one of my devices to test my app on there. However in XCode it is shown as unsupported iOS version. And if I try to install the app through internal testing on TestFlight I get the massage that I have to activate the developer-mode. So how can I get the app on my iOS 16 device to test it there?

Guys, do you happen to know how it is possible to upload iOS builds to App Store Connect by using Xcode Cloud and App Store Connect API Key instead of Apple ID? We want to upload iOS builds for our clients, but some of them have Individual type of accounts, so we were used to ask them for their login and pass (Apple ID) so we can log in and create all the developer certificates prior to build upload. But now we want to remove this step from the work flow by uploading builds to their accounts by using their App Store Connect API Key instead. They would connect to their account in our website, then we'll be able to handle everything from then on, hopefully?

I have 2 macOS Applications on App Store Connect. (not iOS) Both working with many users for some time. One Testflight User is getting the Email on one Application without the "View in Testflight" Button. Which, I think, is needed to connect the Testflight to the App. I can not find the difference and all other users can install it. I tried removing him from the Testing List and adding him many times. Sending 20 new Versions ... nothing works. Like I said. The second application was working. And the Difference is only the Email. One is coming with the Button "View in Testflight" and the other are not.

Hi, I have an app in the App Store and I have a build in TestFlight with around 400 public testers who were added by public link. I started getting reports from some testers recently that they were removed as testers from TestFlight. It just says "Tester removed" for them in TestFlight. The build also didn't expire. Nobody else has access to my developer account, so I'm sure that no testers were removed manually. There are plenty free slots for public testers and those testers are also quite active. So I don't see why TestFlight keeps seemingly randomly removing testers. I already have around 5 reports of this where testers complained that I removed them from testing for reporting bugs. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there any reason for this or is it just a bug? Thanks!

Hi, we are submitting our first app for review on App Store connect. Our previous submissions were rejected about 1 hour after submission due to some problem. The most recent submission has been "In Review" for over 24 hours. While we understand that it may take some time for the review process, some things have happened that makes us believe there is a problem. We can see the recently submitted build on Testflight and the install count. The last 2 rejected versions have an extra install, so we know the app reviewers installed it. However, even after 24 hours the currently submitted build hasn't even been downloaded yet. Is this number just not updating, or has the reviewer not even downloaded the app yet after an entire day of "reviewing"? . Do we have to expire any of the previous Testflight builds? Currently we have versions 15 and 16 still active (16 being the current submission). If I expire the Testflight version 16, will that prevent the reviewer from downloading the app? . Yesterday, all the developers got a notification on their phones from the App Store Connect App that says the current submission requires developer action. However, this message came without an email (which usually comes with these notifications), and we cannot find any messages, errors, rejections, or any sort of reason for this message. Additionally, we can no longer find the notification itself. Was this just an accidental notification? We know it can take hours or even days for an app review to finish, but these problems above are concerning us and we haven't heard anything back from our support case. If anyone can clarify the 3 statements above, we would very much appreciate that. Thank you.

Hi, I need to release IPA via TestFlight and currently have a weird problem with the Transporter app. I uploaded an IPA file to Transporter and I got the message: "Delivered - The following apps have been delivered to App Store Connect" It's been 5 days now that the IPA file is not reflected on the App Store Connect and the "Prepare for Submission" status is displayed. Attaching the upload logs of the Transporter. Transporter-Logs.txt Please provide suggestions or alternatives so I can upload my app.
