Login Problems After Upgrading to Big Sur

I upgraded to Big Sur a few weeks ago to test some code I am writing. Over the past few weeks I have had a very frustrating problem where attempts to log into my computer fail. I had never had this happen until upgrading.

The problem occurs sometimes directly after a reboot but more commonly after my Macbook Pro has fallen asleep or the screensaver comes on. I will enter my password hit submit and it will just hang like it is trying to log me in but it never does anything and buttons like cancel do not function. Commonly, if I reboot it will allow me in and everything works. Other times, it may require multiple hard reboots to get past the login screen. I often use my computer docked and I have notice if I start logging in and it hangs then I open the lid of my Macbook Pro and wait for that to be recognized it will clear the login screen and allow me in, however, if I am not docked then opening and closing the lid has no impact. This is a super frustrating issue and I haven't been able to find any posts with others experiencing the same problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone found a solution? This is a super frustrating one because I have to come and go from my computer often at the office and I also have to maintain a password screen with a short leash to meet security protocols.

Following - have same issue...
Same thing. My Macbook Pro is connected to a TV, and I work around the issue by opening the laptop.
