I am testing various UE/CPEs for 5G band n48 (3550 to 3700 mhz). The spec for iphone13 mini A2481 says that n48 is supported. However the unlocked device I have is not working (no rach) with the gnb. Other CPE devices are able to attach with my gnb so I do not suspect it is a RAN issue. Does the iphone 13 mini actually support n48?
iphone 13 mini support 5G n48 band
I have seen that behaviour with other bands and operators. As the Ue is not attempting to access (no RACH) it can be that there are restrictions at the Ue firmware and/or the SIM. One possible restriction is the PLMN is use. If you used the same SIM card in other phone and it worked then you can discard that the SIM is the culprit and then focus on the Ue itself. If you have control over the broadcasted PLMN you can try to change it to MCC=001, MNC=01. This is a test PLMN where I have seen some Ue's ignore the restrictions. Btw, which gNodeB n48 do you use? And how do you check the RACH? QXDM?
