Is it possible to disable the keyboard shortcut bar in iOS9?
I found this feature super annoying when it was introduced in iOS8, and promptly disabled it.
I can't find a way to do so on iOS9...hopefully there is one?

It works the same for me as in iOS 8. There are two ways
Edit: it looks like iPad (and maybe iPhone 6 plus?) has an extra choice for 'Shortcuts' which are the new icons that sometimes appear. The keyboard chooser and Keyboards settings screen also have a 'Shortcuts' option that can be set to off. You need to set both Predictive and Shortcuts off on iPad to make the bar disappear completely.
As with iOS 8, an alternative to hiding the bar completely is to swipe down on the shortcuts bar. That reduces the height considerably but leaves a "grab handle" that can be used to swipe up to make it appear again.
Stupid bar is still showing at the bottom of my ipad. So annoying. Apple has gone down hill ever since Steve died. Damn it. Come back Steve!!!
Agree, whoever is forcing these options for keyboards isn't actually daily driving this stuff, at least Steve cared about the feedback from users to a degree that we will never see again. I'm sitting here trying to reconcile quickbooks for the month and the keyboard "helper" just covers up the buttons for the quickbooks app, its like apple and intuit are fighting each other for worst software enhancements. Ever since they added the top row of emoji keyboards on my Iphone, i inadvertently hit those all the time which brings up a huge lag before displaying and then having to close down whatever dumb swingout menu comes up. This is all fine except for the fact that you CAN'T TURN ANY OF THESE OPTIONS OFF to have a vanilla keyboard experience.
