How to do screen recording over Wifi?

Several sources indicate that screen recording / mirroring to QuickTime Player is part of the new (and very welcome feels-like-Xcode-4-all-over-again) "wifi debugging" feature in iOS 11. I haven't gotten screen recording to work though, even though debugging itself is working fine. Are there other requirements for this feature to work, perhaps an upgrade to QT?
