NEXTAFTER(3) BSD Library Functions Manual NEXTAFTER(3) NAME nextafter SYNOPSIS #include <math.h> double nextafter(double x, double y); long double nextafterl(long double x, long double y); float nextafterf(float x, float y); DESCRIPTION The nextafter() functions return the next machine representable number from x in direction y. SPECIAL VALUES nextafter(x, y) raises the "overflow" and "inexact" floating-point excep-tions exceptions tions for x finite and the function value infinite. nextafter(x, y) raises the "underflow" and "inexact" floating-point exceptions for the function value subnormal or zero and x not equal to y.
