Known and Resolved Issues

This chapter lists high visibility bugs that have been addressed in these releases. It is not a complete listing of all of the bugs addressed. Java AWT

Headless applications could deadlock when using parts of the AWT.

Description:

A call down to the native Cocoa graphics system could deadlock in AWT startup if an process is started headless.

Resolution:

This issue has been resolved.

Java InputMethods

Focus transition can cause native and Java heap leak.

Description:

Every focus transition in a AWT/Swing application could potentially leak a native resource which retained a JNI global reference to the AWT component.

Resolution:

This issue has been resolved. The native and Java heap memory leak has been fixed.

Java Install On Demand

Radar #13094149

Command-line use of Java should route to Oracle if no JDK is installed.

Description:

The Java SE 6 provided by Apple is deprecated and should not be installed unless necessary for backwards compatibility with legacy applications.

Resolution:

This issue has been resolved. When using the Java command line tools with no JDK installed, users will be prompted to download a JDK from Oracle instead of downloading from Apple.
