# outputFormat(forBus:)

Retrieves the output format for the bus you specify.

func outputFormat(forBus bus: AVAudioNodeBus) -> AVAudioFormat
```

## Parameters

`bus`

An audio node bus.

## Return Value

An [`AVAudioFormat`](/documentation/AVFAudio/AVAudioFormat) instance that represents the output format of the bus.
