# NSDecimalCompact(_:)

Compacts the decimal structure for efficiency.

```
func NSDecimalCompact(_ number: UnsafeMutablePointer<Decimal>)
```

## Discussion

Formats number so that calculations using it will take up as little memory as possible. All the `NSDecimal...` arithmetic functions expect compact [`Decimal`](/documentation/Foundation/Decimal) arguments.
