# JSObjectDeleteProperty(_:_:_:_:)

Deletes a property from an object.

```
func JSObjectDeleteProperty(_ ctx: JSContextRef!, _ object: JSObjectRef!, _ propertyName: JSStringRef!, _ exception: UnsafeMutablePointer<JSValueRef?>!) -> Bool
```

## Parameters

`ctx`

The execution context to use.

`object`

The [`JSObjectRef`](/documentation/JavaScriptCore/JSObjectRef) with the property you want to delete.

`propertyName`

A [`JSStringRef`](/documentation/JavaScriptCore/JSStringRef) that contains the property’s name.

`exception`

A pointer to a [`JSValueRef`](/documentation/JavaScriptCore/JSValueRef) to store an exception in, if any. Pass `NULL` to discard any exception.

## Return Value

<doc://com.apple.documentation/documentation/Swift/true> if the delete operation succeeds; otherwise, <doc://com.apple.documentation/documentation/Swift/false>, such as when the property has the [`kJSPropertyAttributeDontDelete`](/documentation/JavaScriptCore/kJSPropertyAttributeDontDelete) attribute set.
