# JSStringGetLength(_:)

Returns the number of Unicode characters in a JavaScript string.

```

## Parameters

`string`

The [`JSStringRef`](/documentation/JavaScriptCore/JSStringRef) with the length (in Unicode characters) you want to know.

## Return Value

The number of Unicode characters in `string`.
