# makeCommandAllocator(descriptor:)

Creates a new command allocator from a command allocator descriptor.

## Parameters

`descriptor`

A [`MTL4CommandAllocatorDescriptor`](/documentation/Metal/MTL4CommandAllocatorDescriptor) instance that configures the

## Return Value
