Sound Storage Formats
This section describes in detail the formats of sound resources and sound files, which are the two principal storage formats for sound data on Macintosh computers. In general, an application that uses the services provided by the Sound Manager and the Sound Input Manager to play and record sounds does not need to know how the sound data is organized in memory or on disk. For some special purposes, however, you might need the information in this section.
