I'm working on a school project to build a webpage for Vision Pro users. I'm using Xcode to build this webpage because it has .reality files. This webpage only works on Safari because I took a spatial image with my Vision Pro, and it's .heic file type.
I put the .png version below the .heic file that is supposed to have the spatial effect. I deployed this project on Vercel, please use Safari to check out the link: https://spatial-design-project.vercel.app
There's another issue in this project, I downloaded the Cosmonaut .reality file on Apple Quick Look Gallery to test on my webpage. However, when I open it on Vision Pro, the file won't load, it says "Failed to load layers". Does it have something to do with the server for serving this file type? Should I use an actual web hosting company for this website?
Here is my GitHub repo

SDK has some compile errors, when it can be fixed? We want to develop iOS 18 new features in our application.

With the latest release of Xcode, my obj c++ project is now giving compile errors like this.
No code has changed. Reverting to Xcode 15.2 solves this
Hi,
Xcode 16.0 is crashing whenever I try to delete a dependency from my project. Is anyone facing the same issue or anyone who has figured out the root cause of it?
I'm building a VPN app with Flutter, and I'm coming across this issue(only on iOS) - "${appName} must be updated by the developer before ${appName} can be connected."
I have checked and tried almost all the solutions on the internet, but none work. Can anyone who has encountered this before assist or point me toward resources that can help?
Xcode 15 introduced official support for static frameworks.
docs here
This is presumably because there's quite a bit over overlap with the mergeable libraries feature.
Static frameworks potentially give developers a nice option for bundling resources with a static library. This was previously only really viable if you explicitly packaged up a .bundle with your .a (static library) which could be cumbersome for both the creator and consumer of a library. Or you explicitly copied your framework resources into your main app binary when building your app.
The release notes for Xcode 15 state:
Embedding a static framework using a Copy Files build phase now removes the static archive from the framework when it is embedded in the target bundle.
When inspecting the app target on disk this appears to be the case. In fact the behaviour is the same as with a mergable in release mode whereby a "stub" binary exists with no symbols.
The release notes also state:
The COPY_RESOURCES_FROM_STATIC_FRAMEWORKS build setting, previously used in the legacy build system to extract and copy the resources from a static framework to the target bundle, no longer has any effect with the new build system as the entire framework is copied instead
This also appears to be the case when inspecting the files on disk as the frameworks appear to be present in the main app with their resources.
So far so good. The issue arises when trying to access the bundle associated with this framework. The documentation doesn't mention any special access requirements to it's assumed that standard bundle access APIs should work.
Using a class
let bundle = Bundle(for: InfoCoreMain.self)
This returns the main application bundle and therefore fails to find the correct asset. This can be rationalised by the fact that the InfoCoreMain class does now actually exist within the main app target binary due to being statically linked. It's worth noting however, that mergable libraries in release mode do seem to work in this way and can resolve the bundle fine*.
Using an explicit bundle identifier
let bundle = Bundle(identifier: "xxx.xxx.InfoCore")
Using an explicit bundle identifier returns nil even though we can see the framework on disk.
Using a path
Using a path to access the framework also doesn't work.
if let bundlePath = Bundle.main.path(forResource: "InfoCore", ofType: "framework") {
let bundle = Bundle(path: bundlePath)
// Now you can access resources in the framework bundle
} else {
// Framework bundle not found
}
All of the above is the same behaviour for release and debug builds.
I have tried this on Xcode 15.2 and 15.3
*Mergeable libraries do seem to have issues in debug mode. See this forum post.

Our CI process uses XcodeBuild tools. It used to work very well. The shell code is as follows:
step 1 "++++++++++++++++clean++++++++++++++++"
xcodebuild clean -workspace ${WORKSPACE_NAME}.xcworkspace \
-scheme ${SCHEME_NAME} \
-configuration ${configuration}
step 2 "+++++++++++++++++archive+++++++++++++++++"
xcodebuild archive -workspace ${WORKSPACE_NAME}.xcworkspace \
-scheme ${SCHEME_NAME} \
-configuration ${configuration} \
-archivePath ${ARCHIVE_PATH}
-allowProvisioningUpdates YES
step 3 "+++++++++++++++++ipa+++++++++++++++++"
xcodebuild -exportArchive \
-archivePath ${ARCHIVE_PATH} \
-exportPath "${IPA_PATH}" \
-exportOptionsPlist ${EXPORT_METHOD_PLIST_PATH} \
-allowProvisioningUpdates YES
However, there is a problem after upgrading Xcode16. When it is executed to the third step, there will be an error in the error account. Even if I delete my developer account, and then log in again, the same error will still be reported. The specific error is as follows:

How should I solve this problem, I look forward to your reply very much
Hello. Was wondering if anybody has come across code or tutorial on creating a dynamic wind compass. Already tied into weather api, struggling with UI
I am suddenly unable to connect to my iPhone (running iOS 17.0) in Xcode (either 15 or the last 15 beta). I get this error:
The developer disk image could not be mounted on this device.. Error mounting image: 0xe8000115 (kAMDMobileImageMounterDevicePropertyQueryFailure: Failed to query device property.)
I am able to see the disk image iOS_DDI.dmg in the Finder by opening /Users/cmonsour/Library/Developer/DeveloperDiskImages/
I have restarted both computer and iPhone, re-enabled Developer Mode, cleared Derived Data. I am not running a VPN. I am running the latest Xcode. I upgraded from Ventura to Sonoma with no improvement.
Any help appreciated. Unable to run anything from Xcode on my iPhone now, which is quite frustrating.

Whenever there is any change in Localizable.xcstrings, XCode 16 simply crashes. This happens since early betas and continues even through the latest XCode 16.2 beta.
The issue is probably due to some obscure character somewhere in the now monolithic Localization.xcstrings file which now contains all (sometimes rather exotic) localizations - thus making pinpointing the offending character basically impossible. The issue seems to happen when the Commit UI tries to produce the delta in the Localizable.xcstrings source code.
The crash in question is this:
Thread 0 Crashed:: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread

I posted a FB about this way back then (FB14906558) and sent numerous reports but the issue is just not getting resolved.
Since Xcode 16 sorting source code files in the navigator with ascending order by name results in:
A.hpp
A.cpp
B.hpp
B.cpp
...
Previous versions of Xcode sorted the files correctly (with respect to ascending order):
A.cpp
A.hpp
B.cpp
B.hpp
Is this a bug or is there any parameter I have to set to get the old ordering back?
Hi Apple Developer and DTS team,
I facing a big problem when develop the application that trying to connect to WAC firmware (iOT device).
When I debugging the the application, the real device switch internet connection to WAC wifi, and my XCode will showing as failed.
The problem here when I trying to back to old network and trying to build again. the XCode will stuck on building with multiple installing application.
Actually I seen that the XCode do not cancel old installing build.
That issue not appears on XCode 15.4 with same source code. I belive that issue come from the bad internet connection. And now XCode 16 disable to turn off WIFI build as:
That why I can't select the build and debugging the app over cable anymore.
My question is:
How I can disable WIFI debugging? Because my wifi debug not stable when I developing the application over WAC device.
How I can cancelling the installing actions of XCode to build new one?
Best Regards,
A ****** iOS Developer guy.

I created an Object & Hand Tracking app based on the sample code released here by Apple.
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/visionos/exploring_object_tracking_with_arkit
The app worked great and everything was fine, but I realized I was coding on Xcode 16 beta 3, so I installed the latest Xcode 16 from the App Store and tested by app there, and it completely crashed. No idea why. Here is the console
dyld[1457]: Symbol not found: _$ss13withTaskGroup2of9returning9isolation4bodyq_xm_q_mScA_pSgYiq_ScGyxGzYaXEtYas8SendableRzr0_lF

Expected in: <2F158065-9DC8-33D2-A4BF-CF0C8A32131B> /usr/lib/swift/libswift_Concurrency.dylib
It was working perfectly fine on Xcode 16 beta 3, which makes me think it's an Xcode 16 issue, but no idea how to fix this. I also installed Xcode 16.2 beta (the newest beta) but same error.
Please help if anyone knows what is wrong!
I'm having issues supporting the brand new iPad Mini 7. No simulator and the actual device (just received) doesn't appear to be supported. So I can't test my SwiftUI apps on this new device. I can't even do a "Hello, world!" app. I get this:
The developer disk image could not be mounted on this device:
Error mounting image: 0xe800010f (kAMDMobileImageMounterPersonalizedBundleMissingVariantError: The bundle image is missing the requested variant for this device.)
When will this new device be supported? Or is there a work-around? Or is there an update?
In Xcode 16, if you use automatic signing to build your app from the command line, you may run into a bug where Xcode repeatedly attempts and fails to migrate invalid developer account credentials. The Accounts settings in Xcode displays an "Unknown Apple ID" entry for each failed attempt. The xcodebuild command logs a message similar to the following text:
IDEDistribution: Failed to log in with account "(null)" while checking for an App Store Connect account (Error Domain=DVTServicesAccountBasedSessionErrorDomain Code=0 "Unable to log in with account ''."
UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=Unable to log in with account ''.,
NSLocalizedRecoverySuggestion=The login details for account '' were rejected., DVTDeveloperAccountErrorAccount=<DVTAppleIDBasedDeveloperAccount: 0x600002390b40; username=''>,
NSUnderlyingError=0x6000035617d0 {Error Domain=DVTPortalServiceErrorDomain Code=1100 "Your session has expired. Please log in."
The issue is resolved in Xcode 16.1. If you use Xcode 16, you can workaround this issue by running the following command in Terminal:
defaults delete com.apple.dt.Xcode DVTDeveloperAccountManagerAppleIDLists
The command removes and signs you out of all your developer accounts on the system.

Hello! This post is a response to another post from Oct 17 that has already been locked for some reason:
https://forums.developer.apple.com/forums/thread/766500
After upgrading to Xcode 16.0, our build machine was no longer able to archive and upload builds to App Store Connect automatically, as every single time it would say:
`IDEDistribution: Failed to log in with account "(null)" while checking for an App Store Connect account`
I tried using the workaround in the post above as suggested, but it does not help the problem. Removing and signing out of the account just results in Xcode not being able to do automatic signing because it no longer has access to the account with privileges to do that automatic signing.
error: exportArchive No Accounts
error: exportArchive No signing certificate "iOS Distribution" found
I also tried Xcode 16.1 beta 3 as suggested and now the build machine's account is actually removed after every build via our build system! I have to log on after every build, log back in, and then upload the build to App Store Connect manually. I'm guessing that this "workaround" was added to Xcode itself, which is not serving its intended purpose and has actually made things worse.
Not sure if there is a more official venue to send a bug report, but I'm posting here for help since that's where I originally found the post and it appeared to be written by an Apple engineer. Any other possible workarounds? Should I try one of the newer beta releases? Any help would be appreciated as this is becoming very cumbersome and a routine update of Xcode on our build machine has caused a ton of headaches.

Sir/Maam, I want to tell you to personally meet me at Apple Saket Citywalk Mall, as I am from India Uttar Pradesh Noida or my nearest Apple authorized store is in Saket. Your request is, please meet me. In Delhi Apple store, please provide it to me in person because I want to explain my iOS app or share its features or I want to sell my app to apple developers....
Thank you team!!
Yours faithfully
Akansha
My dev setup :
Macos Sequoia - 15.0.1 (24A348)
Xcode 16 - Version 16.0 (16A242d)
iPhone15Pro - iOS Version 18.0.1
I recently upgraded to Sequoia which forced me to upgrade my Xcode version to 16. After this I am unable to deploy apps for testing on my iOS device. The build proceeds fine but then the installation hangs:
Xcode says "Installing to "
On the device, it just says Loading / Installing on the app icon and the install doesn't complete
It remains stuck for a very long time with no progress and then I need to quit Xcode / manually hit 'Cancel download' on the device.
Once in a way the installation goes through and the app runs fine. The same app used to install and run fine when deployed via Xcode15.3 (on macOS Sonoma).
On one attempt I waited for 20mins or so and then app install failed with this message :

System Information
macOS Version 15.0.1 (Build 24A348)
Xcode 16.0 (23051) (Build 16A242d)
Timestamp: 2024-10-25T15:52:47+02:00
I have also tested with Xcode16.1RC and it has the same issue. This issue completely blocks development, please let me know if there is something I can try to fix this.
Requirement :
We wanted to run UI Automation using xcuitest in devices with MDM profiles.
Steps :
We have created a test target for our app and signed with MDM profile (in-house)
Generated app and testbundle-Runner along with xctestrun files using “xcodebuild build-for-testing -scheme “App-TestRelease" -configuration “Release” -derivedDataPath "${CURDIR}/derivedData" -workspace "${PROJECT_NAME}.xcworkspace" -sdk iphoneos”
Tried running “xcodebuild test-without-building -destination platform=iOS,id=000842883-**** -xctestrun App-TestRelease_iphoneos17.5-arm64.xctestrun -derivedDataPath /derived/“
