Help a newbie with a great idea

I'm looking for help on where I should even start with building a very large AutoCAD integrated platform specifically for millwork industry that is user friendly. This is a huge opportunity as the software on the market today is very cumbersome. Just point me in the right direction of where I should start researching platforms that would be best for this. I have basically no coding experience but I'm a very intuitive fast learner. Currently the software on the market are using spreadsheets for the most part. I'd like to make a user interface that is up with the times. Thanks

I'm sure that industry already has sophisticated tools available. They are not using spreadsheets.

I recommend a computer science program at your local college or university instead.

  • no they are literally spreadsheets that you have to manipulate to get things to work.

building a very large AutoCAD integrated platform

What do you mean ?

Do you want to build a new AutoCad ? That would be an enormous endeavour, far beyond an individual capability.

Or do you want to build ancillary tools to AutoCad, to help configure models ?

That may be more feasible but require excellent knowledge:

  • of AutoCad interfaces
  • of the workflows used in this industry.

In both cases, I fear it is a bit far fetched for a beginner.
