How to avoid ArrangementView to hide secondary view with a compact screen?

In the video Design for iPhone Duo, near the end (10:00), they demonstrate what the UI could look like in multiple poses.

Naturally, it feels intuitive to place the presentation view in the primary view and the controls in the secondary view. This way, when split horizontally, the controls are right under your fingertips, and when split vertically, they rest on the flat surface.

While this works well, the secondary view is hidden in the compact x compact landscape layout, whereas it remains visible in compact x compact portrait. This seems like an odd choice, especially when looking at the UI shown in the video during the tent pose.

Here you can clearly see the presentation on the left and the controls on the right. So why hide it?

Apple when you are reading along, please just split when I ask it to split horizontally.

Hello @crystalminds

This is good feedback and could become an actionable item if you file this report as an Enhancement Request filed through Feedback Assistant

If you're not familiar with how to file enhancement requests, take a look at Bug Reporting: How and Why?

Updates on enhancement requests and bug reports come from Feedback Assistant – there's even a discussion section where you can engage directly with the teams investigating. That means if I make report internally, you won't get status updates on a potential resolution, as you won't have access to my report.

Let's start with an enhancement request, make sure to include your use case.

Once you file the request, please reply with the FB number here. I will ensure that report is routed to the relevant engineering team.

Thank you,
